Re: Friday Facts #121 - Path Finder Optimisation II
Damnit, finish the story! Does the lonely biter eventually find his friends or does he die of old age, friendless and bitter?

Re: Friday Facts #116 - Strategy Guide
Kinda weird to try and release a strategy guide for a game which is still heavily in its development phase. Actually... a strategy guide in the year of our Lord 2015? Or did I take a timemachine back to 1995? It honestly comes across as a dishonest cashgrab. Why bother with a strategy guide when the...

Re: Friday Facts #112 - Better noise
Good god yes please, and take a look at how RSO handles it. The vanilla map generation really needs some love: - Rubik's cube effect of terrain doesn't look nice, nor is it "realistic" to have patch of desert, green grass, more desert, etc, all single tiles as if it's a chessboard - A fair...

Vanilla doesn't have a soldering item, so it's definately mod-related.SvenDee wrote:Example: "solder" is translated with "Lötmittel", that correct so far. but Factorio cant read ä,ö,ü, so it stoped at these umlauts and just named it "L" in the game.

Re: Friday Facts #107 - The Wedding
I was wondering why this game would have to go through Greenlight, since it's so very professionally handled.
Can't wait to finally have this in my Library! Keep it up!

Re: Version 0.12.9
Noticing a pretty huge performance decrease when playing with my 0.12.8 factory in this 0.12.9 environment, and my factory certainly isn't all that large or complex by any means. Dropped from 52-60 FPS down to 40-50 FPS.

More (minor) technologies
I'd like to see more technologies available for research, but not the typical technologies which are needed to unlock structures and items. What I'm looking for are technologies that give a (very minor) bonus to certain mechanics, like a tech that gives a 1%-5% speed bonus to transport belts, or tra...

Re: Friday Facts #103 - Prototyping ahead
semi secret mini project with 8 legs I really hope it's a new enemy (even though we got the spitters not that long ago) - we really need an enemy that's either FAST (faster than a biter, at least) and weak OR is slow but tough - main idea would be that they are able to climb over our walls and get ...

Re: Starting location
That was a nice read, thanks for the link! And glad I'm not the only one suffering from this stupid issue. In the past, I did make a few custom maps based on the idea of "pre-constructed" segments. Like, your starting location was dotted with debris from your crashed spaceship, which conta...

Starting location
Well then, since I don't usually start over all that often, but decided to do so with 12.07, I've had a bit of trouble with starting locations. And by trouble, I mean, either the starting ores are too far from each other, making a start too much of a hassle. One other issue I've just run into: http:...

Why not just release the current build? Lots of people don't care about multiplayer, and those that do can just continue with 11.22

Re: Friday Facts #92 - Personal roboport
Agreed. Full automation from the beginning of the game by robots takes away the amazing feeling of accomplishment when you finally DO get that automated coal mining and power supply running, especially for new players. For experienced players it a hassle, of course, but they already have an advantag...

Because the turrets are now made up of a grid of 2x2 instead of 1x2, placing inserters and making sure that they align with the turrets wont be as much of a hasslejerrycheng wrote:Excuse me, what is the meaning of "For the ammo turret, it means less fiddling with inserters. "?

Re: Instead of rescuing the colonists..
From what I understand, you are a forward recon party, preparing the planet for colonization. The rest of the people are in hibernation onboard a massive colonization ship (Wouldn't make sense to have thousands of people running around on a hostile planet). Whether it's malfunctioned (therefore not ...

Re: Just bought the game; What were Your first impressions?
"This is it" While I've cut back on playing Factorio for a while now, till the end-game is more fleshed out at least and released on Steam, that was my first thought as well. This is it! As in, I'm done, I'm never playing anything else anymore. This game was made for me. And hey, even whe...
