Re: Valve
The pump: - is one directional only - when it has the electricity it takes the water from its "back" and pushes it to the front (front is indicated by a blue arrow when you hover over the pump) - when there is no electricity it stops the flow of water Actually we intend to extend the pump...

Re: Barrels of Fun
@3LollipopZ The volume / stack size of the barrel is a balancing problem. I have used only pipes in my test game so not sure what the number should be. Maybe we can raise the stack size to 16 and volume to something like 50? 10 is too low, 50+ is too high. 25 might be good. As far as the stack size...

Re: Oil barrels
I actually like it. I don't know how 'useful' it is vs simply pumping, however it does create a neat way of making oil somewhat mobile while still keeping its 'liquid' feel.

Re: [0.9.0] Factorio Crashes when Save Game is Loaded
I was just playing and as I was playing the game crashed, so I went to load my autosave and it started crashing. All the autosaves were crashing but my main save (The manual one) was working. So I loaded that. Played a bit... and it just crashed again on me, now none of the saves pertaining to that ...

Re: Barrels of Fun
I think the reason they are so expensive is because they are permanent. Once you get a significant amount of them you don't need to keep recreating them. You can keep using them to transport your oil. They are essentially what you'd use to transport your oil industry around. 80 crude per stack. And ...

Re: Fluid Refund when Changing Oil Production
This is not true. If you go here you will see what I mean. With the exception of Lubricant you can 'pump back' and even stop the flow of liquid. Lubricant seems to be the exception. Or it might be anything that is itself produced from the chemical factory. (Rather than a base oil liquid)

Re: Valve
Just to follow up, after having tested a bit more. A valve is necessarily not needed, you can actually use a pump in place of the 'valve'. It essentially functions the same way with the added bonus that not only can it stop the flow, it can also reverse it. So if you pump x into something you can ac...

2.) The immense loss of fluids when deconstructing a building or changing the recipe. You can lose thousands of oil units within seconds. Can't the fluid just be pumped back into the system (adjacent pipes/storage tanks) I was going to address this, but it appears as though this is actually possibl...

Then you will look for ocean deposits with complete disregard to the fishies. Then when you are mega oil billionaire ...

Re: Oil <> Train
So, are the barrels available in the game? Yes, you make them out of steel then load them up in a chemical plant hooked up to your crude oil supply with "Fill crude oil" or something to that effect and it'll fill them up for transport. It's really not very efficient though just so you kno...

Valve [see folloup-thread!]
See https://forums.factorio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10161 It would be really really handy if a Valve could be added for the liquids that you could place between or over a pipe to cut off the flow of liquid through pipes. That way you can better control what is going through pipes and if y...

Few questions and comments
Firstly, it appears that folders can now be used in saves? The question is there doesn't appear to be a mechanism for creating said folders? Or does that have to be done out of game and simply utilized by the game? Pretty cool either way. But it would be nice if there was a way to do it in-game. Als...

Re: Can I use oil to produce energy?
The minimal speed is 0.1 and it will stop at that, we wanted to have the system different for this resource, mind that it is an experiment. I think it's quite cool the way it works. Infinite, but impractically slow. Though I've been finding quite a few patches of oil clumped together so even though...

Re: [0.9.0] Chemical Plants not producing
Well, the tooltip saying that there is no lubricant is clearly a bug It's not a bug, when you mouse over things it takes your inventory into account, not the inventory of whatever the production system is. It's more of a unforeseen quality of life issue than a 'bug'. You indeed have all the necessa...

Re: What to do with light oil?
Hello, I will try to answer all the questions here: It is possible that we went too far with the intermediate products, but we enjoyed the game this way and this is some kind of first attempt, if most of the people feel that it is too complicated we can dumb it down a little. The only usage for lig...

[0.9.0] Burner Inserter
Burner Inserter didn't seem to get the power requirement increase * 1000 like everything else, so one lump of coal will last an extremely long time with it. I've had one running for hours on one coal.

Re: What to do with light oil?
You can turn it into solid fuel. I'm playing with it and while I do like the introduction of so many Intermediate products/items I think they might have gone just a wee bit too far with it in some ways. Steel seems a lot more needed now so I think the iron->steel conversion should probably be lowere...
