I believe the alt-mode graphics are meant to display above all other layers.

The title says it. I see what you're saying however. I'm not sure the actual difference, but when walking on ore it seems to have a dull almost echo to the footstep sound, and when walking on coal there seems to be a much more distinct and crisp "crunch" sound. I'm not aware of coal/ore h...

This might be another similar to 68499

A forum search for 'symlink' turns up quite a few similar reports. But in broad strokes, it sounds like this kind of behavior is intentional.

This might have been due to the number of exo's you had on to get IN to the pipes.

Similar issues have been reported before, though typically with walls, not pipes...

Ah, okay that makes some sense as to what is going on.

So that means that the "Minimize on focus loss" + Steam combination are just kind of going to have this issue with Alt+Tab and the Steam overlay?

So... let me get this straight, currently, the methods for decoration removal are as follows:
  1. Placing entities
  2. Placing tiles (sometimes repeatedly to remove all decoratives)
  3. Grenades (and possibly other explosions)
  4. Assorted mods
Am I missing any?

Yeah, you can even see the blank deconstruction planner in the cursor, and what appears to be the filtered planner in the quick bar.

Especially given at least one desync fix being released in 0.18.16, and the latest FFF spoke of I believe at least one more. Not sure if the fix for the latter has been released yet.

I don't exactly get how the problems of your web service provider don't relate to you, but that's not my concern.
