Apple signing woes

Perhaps I can assist? I've raised this issue a few times in recent months as even pre-Catalina I strenuously avoid running unsigned software. I'm not a professional developer, but I dabble and am willing to test...
To test, I grabbed the .app of 0.17.69, signed it ...

Is 0.17 going to be notarized to function on the latest version of macOS?
The newest version of macOS, "Catalina," will be released this month.
Per the below Apple developer reminder, Catalina apps need to be notarized for security. Now that 0.17 is stable, is it going to be submitted to Apple for notarization?
To further protect users on macOS Catalina, we’re working ...

Hi there,
I just wanted to nudge this and see if this might make it in for 0.17 stable? It's really quite easy to do. The most time consuming part is signing up as an Apple developer, but once that's done it should be cake to implement.

Hello! Congratulations on the impending release of 0.17.
I wanted to check in and see whether signed binaries was still the plan for 0.17 (for macOS and Windows?)
See:

Re: Friday Facts #269 - Roadmap update & Transport belt perspective
Good news that 0.17 will be released as an interim patch in January, 2019.
I just wanted to confirm that the digital signing of the Mac (and Windows) binaries that was planned for 0.17 is still planned for the January release? @HanziQ and @posila indicated in this thread that this was planned for 0 ...

Re: Friday Facts #257 - NPE/Campaign update
This news sound like we can await 0.17 in the near future.
I would really appreciate that.
I certainly hope so as I'm dying to play, but I'm not optimistic about "near future." This line stuck out to me in the blog post and made me think I should manage my expectations of when to expect 0.17 ...

Re: [0.16.51 demo for Mac] is from an "unidentified developer"
You dont add any security by only running apps from identified developers... just btw.
More important is "what" from "where".
Btw, that's not accurate IMHO. Digitally signing apps is one layer in a security model. It doesn't address all threats, but it does address some. I'm not familiar with ...

Thank you! I look forward to trying 0.17 with this inclusion when it ships. Do you still expect it to ship before year-end?HanziQ wrote:I've been meaning to fix this for a long time, even the full game is not signed. I will add this for 0.17.

[Note: also confirmed with the 0.16.36 demo for macOS.]
