Uploaded to google drive and PM'ed link. My first PM in the forums; it shows in my Outbox instead of Sent Messages, so not sure if it was "sent" or not...

Re: [0.17.52] CPU pegged and high lag even on menu screen

Tried a Q&D way to do this, and that seems to have helped. I am concerned, however, about what I am not seeing.

Is there a way I can xfer this file more securely? E.g., something more direct to you or perhaps if you share a GPG public key I can use to encrypt it...

Re: [0.17.52] CPU pegged and high lag even on menu screen

Ah. Didn't realize that didn't get included. Just looking at the file, and we have a problem. There is a lot of sensitive data in that file. It seems to have included environment variables, .e.g., which I cannot publish. I may need to try and set up a controlled environment to run this again. That w...

Below, repeating. The sched_yield line repeats several dozen times, followed by the rest. sched_yield() = 0 getpid() = 28704 getpid() = 28704 getpid() = 28704 getpid() = 28704 getpid() = 28704 getpid() = 28704 clock_gettime(CLOCK_MONOTONIC, {tv_sec=96405, tv_nsec=348874247}) = 0 clock_gettime(CLOCK_...

Re: [0.17.52] CPU pegged and high lag even on menu screen

Been messing with it. Tested a hypothesis: on my laptop, CPU is pegged on startup, but shortly after it reaches menu screen, it drops down to zero. I figured, maybe something is just taking longer on the desktop. So, started it on desktop and letting it run while watching CPU. Been running almost 15...

Re: [0.17.52] CPU pegged and high lag even on menu screen

Do you mean turn off "Wait for VSync" ? If so, unfortunately, it did not. I started the game, went to settings->graphics, unchecked "Wait for VSync", clicked Confirm, Back, and then Exit. I then restarted the game. Still has the same lag. Checked the setting and verified it was i...

[0.17.52] CPU pegged and high lag even on menu screen

On my Linux desktop system (12 CPU, 64G memory), 0.16 always ran fine. I was finally able to install the update yesterday, but the game is extremely laggy and pegs the CPU even on the initial menu screen. Mousing over the buttons takes almost a second for the button highlight to change to the new on...

Re: [0.17] [linux] Update to 0.17.1 std::bad_alloc

The problem is in the game client, so .0 and .1 will forever keep crashing. You'll have to download the full package. Can you post these instructions somewhere? How do I update an installed 0.17.0 without using the built-in updater? I tried to download, but the account login isn't working: just cop...

[0.17.0] Linux crashes on start.

On start, Linux displays a message and then exits when you click OK: "__base__/campaigns/beta/desription.json not found (No such file or directory)" It is repeatable; autocloses every time with the same message. Sorry for all of the edits; this is my first bug report and I am working throu...

Having the opposite problem from the release notes. After starting, I get a popup saying "__base__/campaigns/beta/desription.json not found (No such file or directory)"
Once I click OK, game crashes.

Re: Friday Facts #258 - New autoplace

Yeah... I have had to hit the regenerate button myself many times. Looking forward to the new generator. While you are tweaking that, might I ask that you make the resource patches on the preview screen more visually distinctive? I have a really hard time seeing where the resources are; unless I hap...

Re: Friday Facts #255 - Construction tools

Very much looking forward to 0.17! As I have mentioned in a reply on a previous FFF, blueprints do indeed need an overhaul, and getting cut/copy/paste into the bargain, well, wow! My thoughts: * Decouple blueprints completely from inventory. * Implement as copy/paste. * All blueprint repositories ar...

Re: Friday Facts #249 - Dead end exploration

Yes... that is how I got to the ability to stringify blueprints. I can use blueprints just fine. I could just never figure out how to access my "library". I.e., my blueprints external to the current game. I have been copying the string versions to a text file and back into new games in ord...

Re: Friday Facts #249 - Dead end exploration

Two thoughts on blueprints: Present - I have yet to figure out how to access the blueprint library and move things between them. I have been exporting as strings and storing in a text file. Future - How about having a separate blueprint GUI? E.g., display the library on the right under the informati...

Re: Friday Facts #246 - The GUI update (Part 3)

I love what you are doing with this!
While you are tweaking the preview, can you make the ores more distinctive? In <=0.1.16, I can often only tell where the ores are if my eye catches them being drawn (which it usually doesn't). Mouseover would help this a lot...
