Re: Friday Facts #369 - To the moon

This is great news ! I was sad when bitcoin support was removed from Factorio in 0.17... bitcoin_in_factorio.png Back then, we had to work hard to dig rocks, hoping for a bitcoin to randomly drop from a biter hiding there ! bitcoin_realtime_hyena_world.png It's nice to have crypto back in the game !...

Re: pY Raw Ores Discussion

These two recipes are supposed to go in pY Fusion Energy's Centrifugal Pan..?

P.S.: Is the above what happens without pY FE ??

[Suggestion] Switch Niobium and Multipurpose Pipes

Currently, the more advanced Multipurpose pipes are functionally better in every way than the Niobium pipes. (And are also cheaper !) Sadly, they : - don't look nearly as great, - are awkward in terms of figuring out which direction they are pointing, and to distinguish underground and regular pipes...

Re: Mods updatable on startup

Frankly I'd love an option to start in "check mods mode" where all it does is check for mods that could be upgraded and offer the upgrade. I mean, you have to restart anyway so why spend all that time loading graphics and stuff that won't get used? But +1 to this. It's a pain as-is and wo...

Re: [MOD 0.14-1.0]Helmod: Assistant to plan its base.

Thanks a lot ! (My nullius game folder is on another PC, I'll have to check that specific one later...) A more involved, less important issue is that for instance the combustion turbine mk1 only takes up to 750°C combustion mixture. For me, it seems that all tiers of combustion turbine take up to 10...

Re: Finished PyMods (Alien Life not included)

Yeah, all those options and having to figure out what is the best path forward for your situation is what makes pY great ! (And the art of course !) (And also sometimes maddening, when you realize that you forgot about a dependency item required for a building !) Congratulations !! YAFC is not reall...

Re: Please add the ability to disable the starting bonuses

This probably deserves its own thread, but is there a way to have resources more staggered than starting/non-starting ? I don't remember exactly the early game, and it might change with Alternative Energy anyway, but IIRC titanium (?) and especially rare earths could be further out ? (Roughly : star...

Re: pY Raw Ores Discussion

Is it really an issue ? Propene seems to eat only like 2% of the lead plates in the combined silver/lead smelting with Lead processing 3 chain. (Are you trying to "power through" silver with lower tech ? BTW, Soot is a verrry nice source for early silver & gold !) (And there *are* othe...

W00t, might be just a coincidence, but I have been recently getting very annoying lag when zooming in/out of the map view, and this issue seems to be gone now ! :D [...] Frankly for me...I feel kind of stuck. I have 5,4kSPM 60UPS factory, but I cannot enlarger it, because the UPS would fall (ok, I c...

Re: Widespread networking issues caused by a defective line of chips used in modems

Well, I have now seen people complaining about having generally terrible Internet connections (including for plain Web browsing) until they switched modems - hard to say how typical their experiences were (and whether that was specifically the fault of that chip), but also how many people never real...

Re: Widespread networking issues caused by a defective line of chips used in modems

Fair points. I was mostly surprised that I've never heard of this before and this has never been raised on these forums. And a modem is not something that you would care about changing often. (Especially if it has a minimum set of functionalities that don't obsolete too fast ?) My former ISP is stil...

Widespread networking issues caused by a defective line of chips used in modems

Now, this is a bit outside of your typical tech support ticket, but the issue seems to be both widespread and bad enough for this warning needing to be stickied on all real time multiplayer video games forums. We seem to be in the situation where hundreds (?) of millions of effectively defective mod...

pY AL alone already strains computers with its heavy graphics. Alien Biomes can push that over the edge.

Re: Performance: Multicore pathfinding for "low" GHz servers

This seems to be a good thread for this question : While it's not the case for the abovelinked game, Screenshot from 2022-03-13 11-28-17.png I've heard that regular grid train systems that you so often see in megabases were really bad UPS-wise, because they were causing a powers of 2 complexity expl...

Re: [Bob's Adjustable Inserters] Fast replace between Long inserters and others ?

Ah, could you please move this behaviour to bobinserters then ? I think that I saw other people too, which, like me, use bobinserters - much more than your other mods, since, like boblogistics , those add new entities potentially in conflict with other mods' entities - as pretty much a mandatory QoL...

Re: How-to: Two-way rails

I reported it because it happened to me. In a vanilla game (Death World + Marathon) where (IIRC) I wasn't even at yellow science yet.

Also, you don't seem to understand the issue ? Which is that the train(s) do NOT take the longer route, but get stuck instead, potentially forever.

Achievements are tracked separately for modded ones :

(Also Steam doesn't track modded achievements, if you're using it in the first place...)
