Re: Tutorial Feedback: Too confusing and hard for a new player
You mean make the biter the same toughness as before? You know that I've played many many maps and I've never lost a single game. I mean if that's the kind of game you want, maybe the developers should add difficulty levels, like in Civizilation. There's the Chieftain, Warlord, Prince, Deity, etc. a...

Re: Not pleased with 17.1 so far...
Finished the tutorial with 5 seconds to go before the turret gets killed and biters destroys everything. Conclusion: Bit too many biters but i sure got a rush out of it that i didnt expect at all. Was quite fun actually. I've completed the campaign twice, but never lost. It seems to me that there's...

Re: Not pleased with 17.1 so far...
Graphics aside, the combat feels heavily in favor of the biters now. It feels more like a combat game and less like a building game. I had the game set to default in 17.1, and within 5 minutes I had biters on my base. Also, these small biters were doing WAY more damage than any other small biter I'...

Re: 0.17 Hype?
I'm not hyped for 0.17 much, but I will be hyped when my 0.17 Angel/Bob factory accomplishes the two rocket per minute goal. That way I can retire from Factorio permanently. I may return in 5 years to see the launch of the 0.18 update, but more out of curiosity than anything. angels bob 2RPM with m...

still no answer about what they mean when they say fluid algorithms? This: https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-274 The optimizations are in: https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-271 Oh gotcha, so as I thought, the algorithm is the part about how fluid moves when it runs into an intersection. T...

Re: Friday Facts #283 - Prepare to Launch
by fluid algorithm do they mean the multi-threading of fluids? So in 0.17 we won't be able to see the full effect of the fluid improvements yet? So the fluid mixing prevention and fluid update optimisations are in 0.17, but the new algorithm was put aside for further research. I'm pretty sure that ...

Mod that scales biter hardness in perpetuity?
I'm looking for a mod that would keep making the biters harder and harder and harder. Where a simple wall with turrents and bots to repair won't be sufficient enough. At present, when you reach max evolution the biters just stop being a challenge. My idea would be something like an endless survival ...

Re: Accidentially made 42K repair packs... now what?
Hello all, it seems I forgot to limit my repair pack production and I now have 42K repair packs. Any suggestions on what to do with this? Can I automate getting rid in some interesting way? Would appreciate comments or ideas. Thank you. Question, how did you accidentally make 10 steel chests worth ...

Re: Friday Facts #281 - For a Few Frames More
What I miss in most games is a "test" button in the graphics settings that renders a couple of scenes and reports the fps. Especially in games where the screen starts out empty and fast to render... Woa, killer idea here! Why fiddle with the controls and have to figure out specific settin...

[Rseding91] Lower FPS/UPS in map view when power lines turned on
I just wanted to make sure that someone mentioned it. I thought about posting it for awhile, but figured that someone already brought it up and it's not really a big deal for me as I just turn power lines off. I believe this is only noticeable in megabases. In map view when you turn on "electri...

Re: Removing fluid temperature - thoughts?
I've played 4 maps, one is a 12k SPM map and I don't think I've ever paid attention to the fluid temperature. I haven't played in a couple of months (waiting for 0.17) so I may be forgetting something. But yeah I agree that it might be better to just remove it.
