Given that the game is ostensibly all about the rocket launch, I think Factorionaut might be better :D

Window size/location not saved between games

When playing in windowed mode (not full screen), the size and location of the window is not saved on exit from the game. What I did: I played in windowed mode. When the game started, I moved and resized the window to where I wanted it. What happened: The next time I started the game, the window was ...

Re: Hidden Object-Information

Screenshot from 2018-06-30 11-57-11.png There are a few use cases where I want to check the status of an entity, say to see if a miner has run out of resources, or if a boiler has run out of fuel. A fairly straightforward solution would be to put the entity status box in front of the equipment box ...

Wrong Target removing trees and rocks (was: Trees and Rocks)

For me, the issue is not the mining time, it is selecting the right target. If you always select the rock you want, you don't need to worry about the cases when you don't. I frequently encounter grabbing the wrong thing - I want to pick up a belt and accidentally start mining the tree next to it, or...

Re: Friday Facts #249 - Dead end exploration

I vote for Proposal 4! No more worrying about updating my blueprints, quick access to all the blueprints I need, ability to tuck stuff I don't use all the time out of the way but still be able to access it quickly, this is brilliant!

Re: [Poll] Battery design that stabilizes 0.16.51

Not being a graphic designer I don't have opinions on how to fix it, but I agree the new battery design is hard on the eyes. The transport belt full of them looks awful and I won't be doing that any time soon. However, it could be worse (flashing disco balls come to mind).

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers

If I play Factorio on two different computers, what is the best way to keep my blueprints synced between the two computers? Is this possible? I take the right side of the blueprint window where it says My Blueprints only shows what is saved local, right? I am not sure how to use the left side, or S...

Ooh I like the keychains. Thank you Demod!
First thought: oh I want one!
Second thought: hmm maybe mini ones for ear-rings?
Third thought: Factorio the Board Game!
Fourth thought: Factorio the Playing Card Game?

I really do look forward to FFF Fridays!

Yes the more places things are documented, the more likely that players will find the answer they need in the first place they look, so they don't get as frustrated ;-)

Re: Friday Facts #246 - The GUI update (Part 3)

Like many others, I am really happy with the direction of the GUI. I am wondering what if any changes are planned for the mini-map. I had actually started to draft up a page for the wiki (which is awesome thank you Bilka and Gangsir et al) describing the blueprint library (which totally confused me ...

I can't say thank you enough - not just for the game, which is EPIC, but for the wiki, the forums, the players, the mods, but especially for the developers! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Resetting passwords for the wiki seems to be a recurring theme. How about making a pinned post so people don't have to search, and don't end up creating more posts.

Re: 0.16.49 Factory output no longer shared

A little more experimenting: it looks like the circuit factory was waiting on cables; change from one inserter feeding cables to three, and it is back to working, with output shared between the factory and the chest. I am still very curious to know what changed but I don't need to re-arrange my fact...

Re: 0.16.49 Factory output no longer shared

I do have a similar setup that is working: one gear factory feeding both the inserter factory and a belt factory, and overflow going into a chest. Inserters and belts both get built to feed the green science pack factory, at the same time that the gears chest is getting filled as I grab components t...

0.16.49 Factory output no longer shared

What I did: Factory 1 (producing basic circuits) feeds factory 2 (producing inserters for green science packs) using a fast inserter. Overflow production goes into a chest, using a long handled inserter. (Both factories are assembling machine 2. No control circuits, no bonuses, this is at the start ...

Re: Friday Facts #246 - The GUI update (Part 3)

I have a request -- currently the Map Exchange string is copy-able to the clipboard. Could you make it so that we can save it to a preset of our own? (So that it appears in the drop down menu). With very few exceptions, I always generate maps with the exact same settings, and it would be soooooo ha...

Re: Friday Facts #245 - Campaign concept

Really like the ideas behind the new campaign, especially the clearer focus on the purpose of each phase and maintaining player investment. I am of two minds about the pre-placed factory structures: yes they certainly show concepts and workable designs, but I have found a tendency to find one design...
