Re: [1.1.1] duplicate map tags
I reviewed the bug report on map tags not rendering. I do not remember noticing any of my tags vanishing like that, but I cannot say for sure that it didn't happen. And it sounds like a reasonable cause for some tags but not all being duplicated. I don't think it is worth downloading 1.1.0 again (sl...

[1.1.1] duplicate map tags
1. What did I do: Updated game from 1.1.0 to 1.1.1. 2. What happened: I loaded my saved game from yesterday. After playing for a few minutes, I realized that some of my map tags were duplicated. I removed one thinking I had just made a mistake, then I realized there were more. Picture shows one tag ...

Re: [0.16.23] Search for train stops by name in the map
This is easy to remember. With the name like “loch rabbit iron load” I know it must be somewhere here near big iron field. And it’s just fun to have station like “biter toilet wood unload “. This is great! I have a similar concept using zones and sectors but "zone 3 green circuit sector" ...

Re: Alt-F4 #14 - Exploring the Infinite
Sigh. I missed this post yesterday, it had already slipped down past the first page of active topics. I tried searching for Alt-F4 this morning; 2855 results for the word "Alt" - the F4 was ignored  I went to my search page (DuckDuckGo not Google), and it didn't make it to the top of...

Re: Friday Facts #363 - 1.1 is getting close
First the thrill of opening my email to see the notice that another FFF is here, then an entire list of improvements that I didn't realize that I absolutely have to have! Night lighting! Straight line belts! Access to icons when naming train stops! Improved technology icons with consistent bonus sym...

Re: Why dont trains never use my second stop?
A train stop must be placed on straight track, not curved - the game won't let you place it on a curved rail. But you can pick up the straight rail and replace it with a curved one, leaving the stop in an invalid state shown with no lights. You can confirm if this is your problem by removing and (tr...

Re: Monsters making the game unplayable for me
I think players with things like PVP or first-person shooter experience come in with the skills and the mindset to handle biter attacks. I never enjoyed those kinds of games, and I found the attacks in the tutorial overwhelming. So glad that there are so many ways to play without biter attacks! One ...

Re: Alt-F4 #11 - Scientific Curiosities
Thank you for all the work creating Alt-F4 and keeping it going, and for sharing it here on the forums. I try to follow reddit but I confess that having things organized here on the forums makes it easier to sort everything from new creations to beginner requests for help, so I spend more time here....

Re: Train based direct insertion challenge
but it certainly wouldn’t jam. Now I have a mental picture of strawberries being loaded into the assemblers to make jam... Or maybe cucumbers to make pickles 'cuz I am in a pickle... As for the labs you could try to place some inserters in between each pair I had thought of using only one ass...

Re: Train based direct insertion challenge
Sadly my trains are continuing to unload unevenly which sometimes causes the train to block: each cargo wagon unloads to a pair of factories, and sometimes one factory will take all that remains of one input, while the partner factory takes all that remains of a second input. This leaves both factor...

Re: Train based direct insertion challenge
I am continuing to go with one zone per science pack, and sectors within the zone that produce the necessary components for science pack production. I have three main sector layouts: one for factories, one for train to train transfer, and a handful of variations on the oil refinery layouts depending...

Re: Friday Facts #361 - Train stop limit, Tips and tricks
I was (and am) ridiculously happy and excited to see the FFF! I can't wait to play with the new train stop limit... and thank you Boskid for the Great Wall of Text, it is fascinating to get these glimpses behind the scenes. The work behind the new tips and tricks - building in real game animation in...

Re: Train based direct insertion challenge
I don't know if I was doing something wrong, or if there is some limit about a train stop with no wait condition, but when I tried to count the trains going through my input queue, none of the incoming trains registered. So this is how I got it to work: I read the train stopped as it is unloading or...

Re: Train based direct insertion challenge
Double the silo loading fun!
Now, how do I ensure that the trains load the silos evenly, instead of all choosing the first unloading zone? I think I will need a circuit that counts the trains and controls the entrance signal accordingly....
