Re: We support Ukraine
I cannot endorse Wube any longer and regret the massive support thread on Steam I created when Wube was under attack by that 'cancel mob'. The notion of supporting a foreigner (Ashkenazi Jew) comedian, who killed the entire Ukrainian parliament "In minecraft" (so to speak), as a president ...

Re: Friday Facts #367 - Expansion news
Was my thread moved into this one as a post? Regarding the alien design? Or did I mess up and posted it here? I couldn't check the forum for a while. Anyway. I don't think the new design is alien at all. It's just a jellyfish with blobby meat hooks and steam puff boobs. https://webcdn.factorio.com/a...

'Body Horror' or 'Shock Value' for expansion aliens is a bad direction.
I don't know if it has been mentioned before, but why is that preview of this jellyfish like creature so comparatively grotesque? Looks like it has mammaries, too. Maybe that's just me, though, but, it does. Why? Why must it be so fleshy and gnarly and entrail like looking? Is it because the nests o...

yeah, but in the future, due to your response to my other thread you don't have to help me anymore. You are the creator, yes, but the owner is wube, which drives this forum and b) By helping ...

>functional programming >haskell There is no functional programming for computers. It's all imperative, not a single exception. It cannot be escaped. Only coated over to an extent. Somewhere, somehow, there is always the important core of having things in a specific order, in a specific way, for a s...

An item that deploys follower capsules in bulk
TL;DR An item like 'discharge defense', that spews out followers in bulk. What ? Follower capsules (Defense, Distractor, Destroyer) are often overlooked, despite being really really good, even in late-ish mid game. This suggested item could be a 'defense deployer', a 'distractor deployer' and a 'de...

Re: Give construction bots the ability to 'throw' landmines
I’m not sure if you know it, but construction bots can build mine fields. Or do you mean this mechanism to throw them the last meters? Throwing them would make the bots too strong, I think. Yes, I know they can build minefields, and yes, I mean "throw the mine the last few meters". Would ...

Give construction bots the ability to 'throw' landmines
Doesn't have to be a huge range. They can throw cliff explosives, right? Why not landmines? Would keep them out of harms way a bit while replacing minefields. I like landmines and use them a lot, not just as outside defense, but i put them inside my factories as well, and I generally lace newly libe...

Re: your thoughts on menu simulation
It's cute, but I only have updated to the newest version today and it confused me due to the window being in the background as I put on my headphones, and hearing this faint crackle/whoosh, I thought that my also newly bought audio interface was acting up. Turns out it was a rather long lull in the ...

Re: Anyone use barrels?
I...I use barrels cause I like barrels <_< I like seeing them on belts. I like seeing them get processed in the assemblers. I just like barrels. Would you rather be around barrels IRL or pipelines? Barrels for me. They're more friendly than pipelines, and less prissy, too. Oh no the pipeline is leak...

Yeah, I saw belts and inserters in my dreams when I first started playing. Good times, and the demons I summoned with the eldritch spaghetti belt patterns have long become my friends.

Re: Deathworld shouldn't be about time race
Combat in Factorio is bleh tier anyway. Just 'cheat' or set settings or whatever to give you the balance you need.
There are better tower defense games out there. Much better.
Even with tweaked parameters, Wube won't be able to match everyones preferences. Cheat, mod, etc, to your liking.

Not that I know of, but even word of mouth of 'influencers' is getting on my nerves a bit.
Personal opinion, of course, but even Sseth is starting to feel a bit too shill like to me now.

Re: What are some good ways to make the first ~4 hours of a Factorio game fun?
Nanobots mod. Makes the smelting columns, aka the worst part of Factorio, once you learn about their perfection, a little less painful. I wish Factorio had a console command like "yeahyeahIknowthecolumnsnow" that gives you a special blueprint that allows you to place an entire column with ...

Re: Article on satisfactory mentions user ratings often calling factorio "the better satisfactory"
Satisfactory exceeded my highly critical expectations (I held off cause I figured that a '3d factorio' would run like Scheibenkleister (the word in German one might use to not say Ssssshhhhh-) but it actually performed rather well) . Exploring (in fact, some of the textures and regions gave me a str...

Re: is checking biter path cheating?
Yeah, but cheating is awesome. Cheating used to be a big part of games back in the days, schoolbus and recess talk about codes and stuff. Hours happily wasted with console commands spawning units and watching them fight one another. Action Replay/Gameshark for the older consoles where it still had a...

Re: About PvP as a situation
The amount of damage PvP can do to Factorio far outweighs the little fun it would bring, given the games core mechanics. Imho. The weapony is meh, the combat mechanics are meh, it's just not that good, but the moment you make PvP a bigger deal will be more whines about PvP balance etc. If you wanna ...
