Re: [0.16.16] Tile prototype limit (255) too low
This limit won't be ever increased. I am sorry. y not make a patch that ups it and make it a mod so not everyone has it but peple can still up it if thay need to as space eprashin and the asfolt mod goes over the limit just by thim self (by that i meen thim being to geter gose over) "Y" y...

Re: Complex rail setup and LTN
So this has nothing to do with LTN.
I don't think using a mod to place signals is a good idea. Now I'm interested to see the map

Re: Alt-F4 #28 - ROFL
LTN, yawn I like this well written and constructive feedback. While you kept it in the subforum, I wouldn't bother to read about your love for the mod, but it starts to make me feel the love too. As I'll follow a certain advice you recently gave someone else, about forums and users, you don't even ...

Re: Complex rail setup and LTN
This sounds like 2 or 3 problems at the same time Sitting at stops, waiting for something to happen. Do you mean LTN stations, designated as depots? If so, it might be LTN signals not setup correctly (supply/demand) 2 trains facing each other Totally looks like a signal issue. Nothing LTN can ever s...

Re: LTN is a mod great enough to build a playthrough around
No one will look down on you for using it. The whole post reads just like that. What's the point of the post in the first place anyway? Someone complimenting the author (the same thread, make devs happy, is even pinned in general discussions) gets a reply like: Well... meh... if you wanna have it t...

Re: What are the recommendations for building city-block?
City blocks is lots and lots (and lots and lots) of possible train paths.
Improve the crossings and use less of them.
Very general advice, but this seems to come up way to often in performance problem threads to not be a (if not THE) solution.

Re: Noob intro + baffled by Kovarex
I think you only want a hint and figure out the rest yourself?
Let's try it that way:
Pull out all Uxxx into a chest
Use stack inserters with a stack size set to 10 (something to learn)
Pull out 4x10 U23x
If 1 is left, pull it out with another inserter.
Use the logic, Luke!

Re: RSO mod benefits?
I have the same naive question. Now, with 1.4 million downloads, I have no doubt it adds something, but I don't get what. I have been using the vanilla ore generator with very very low frequency and richness, and I definitively needs railways to get to new ore patches, which are very distant from e...

Re: LTN is a mod great enough to build a playthrough around
this is the concern of LTN for many long term players who don't like it. LTN prevents you from learning cool tricks by giving you an easy-out. all you need to do for a build train is filter the wagon slots by middle-clicking on them. limit a number of slots from each wagon, for each item. Long time...

Re: Suggestion: Dump Station
I have not played with trains since early 18.something (other side projects, less time) , using LTN was even further back, so I have no idea about train limit and how it works with LTN. But I feel this gets dragged away from the topic. If you have item congestion, it means you need to change somethi...

Looks like a worm
Most likely overseen when destroying biter nests nearby.
If it is, it should be permanent however.
Could also be a single biter that's wandering around, sometimes being in the next chunk that's not covered by radar, therefore disappearing

Re: Sci fi novels and factorio?
Cryptonomicon (Neal Stephenson) is one of my all-time favorites i think really blew my mind that one. My all time favorite book of all time favorite books (of all times) Think I have read it at least 4 times and I'm still not tired of it. Though I wouldn't put it in the scifi genre, as it's 2...

Re: Stages of Factorio gameplay
I still remember my "set your own goals stage" from early 0.16 Some YouTuber I followed did the Lazy Bastard run and I wanted to try that. Taught me a lot about automating everything. A few thousand hours later, with a detour doing overhaul mods, "speedrunning" (<8h)and writing m...

Re: Dyson Sphere Program
My desire to play DSP is at -1 now. I could test it on my "semi-decent" PC over the weekend and it seemed ok My gf´s PC might have an onboard gfx card, because i cant imagine it being so slow without anything automated happening. My guess is on the 3D world thats causing a dia show. I for...

Re: Dyson Sphere Program
The 2nd reply here sums my thoughts about it. Factorio can run on a toaster. Since I'm stuck at my gfs place for a while, I started a new map in factorio, which runs a smooth 2kspm on her steam powered PC. DSP is a Dia show, without even first science automated. It looks nice from what I've seen on ...

Re: Friday Facts #365 - Future plans
[...] Given the time I played Factorio, the high enjoyment level, and given what I've paid for, I wouldn't feel robbed even if I pre-paid for an expansion pack that never came. Factorio is one of the very few games for which I got so much bang for my bucks that I wouldn't see preordering as a risk,...

A new game wouldn't need to be Factorio 2.
Maybe something completely different.
I'd love to see you take on something like ONI, lots of (pseudo) physics.
Because you care a lot about optimizing and that example is horrible when going big, nothing compared to Cracktorio
