Re: Regarding steam keys and higher tiers

Don't forget the soundtrack was made by someone who's not in the dev team : https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=19824&p=125618&hilit=soundtrack#p125618 His website : http://danieljamestaylor.co.uk/ I'm pretty sure he gets paid when people buy the soundtrack. Yes. Royalties ...

Re: Problem with Linux Server (also saves from steamversion)

Thanks for the report. So the issue here is that the server is actually demo. That is a mistake on our side that the demo can be run in the server mode. This will be fixed in the 0.12.25. If you download the real headless server (http://factorio.com/download-headless) that should work just fine.

Re: steam dedicated server problems

As mentioned in the email, the simplest way to get a game running on a linux server is to use our headless binary. Available from both the demo and download page. Running the Steam version of the game in headless mode might not work properly at the moment because of an error with passing arguments. ...

Re: Friday Facts #126 - Steam Status II and Trains Stuff

Dear devs! What about train "names"? So many changes to trains, but no one about possibility to give names to trains. Maybe you will do, at least, Identificators (IDs)? Train names are definitely an option. Well well, Factorio hit the steam finally :D Since game will unlock in 5 days. I w...

Re: Friday Facts #124 - Steam Status I

So, we have a juicy discussion going, that is good=)) To be honest, I have expected a bit of uneasiness, so let's just clarify a few things first and then see what can be done in the future. 1. The names / status of the existing tiers is not going to change. If someone has bought the mining-drill-op...

Re: Friday Facts #124 - Steam Status I

When you say everyone has the possibility of a steam key, you mean that everyone will have the option to generate a steam key? Yes. If I bought Transport Belt Repair Man on the website, when the Steam release launches do I get the scenario packs? If so, how do I get them? It's not that I'm cheap, a...

Re: About the endgame - kinda frustrating today

Just a quick disclaimer regarding the endgame and the space platform. I haven't read all the conversation, but here is a sort of our current stand on the topic. This is not to be taken as a solid plan but rather as our current direction (which can shift as we have seen already=)): The amount of work...

Re: Games Like Factorio

Settlers(2). The economy is "automated" and your job is proper connection between "producers, converters and end-users". e.g. you mine coal and iron ore. then you smelt it to iron, then you forge it to weapons. It also allows cooperative multiplayer. And if focusses on logistics...

Re: Can i ask money for setting up a factorio server?

I don't see a problem in this. As long as it makes the experience for people who actually paid for the game better then it is fine. Pretty much same what other services are doing already: see creeperhost.net or zaphosting.com

Re: Friday Facts #116 - Strategy Guide

Yay FFF! More importantly though, there are two features the multi-player games browser definitely needs: The server name filter input always visible (not behind some tab) A favorite servers list!! There are many more things that can be added to improve it, but from my experience the name filter an...
