[0.17.47][Crash] "Failed to create device and swap chain"

Factorio consistently crashes with this error message. The Crash log should be attached to the post.

Re: Friday Facts #297 - New resource icons

I also think SOME people can't stand the randomized ores and I know 2 who will scream bloody murder if they don't have a checkbox to turn the randomness off. Having to resort to a mod for something that is so VISCERALLY VERY WRONG will not do for either of the 2 people I talked to. I'm pretty sure ...

Re: Friday Facts #297 - New resource icons

There's a lot on your plate already, but is there opportunity for a few other items to have alternate belt icons? Uranium 238 and Uranium 235 have so much potential for this kind of stuff, especially with belted Koverex enrichment designs! :D

Probably broke on of my mods again like always. Thanks for that! https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/experimental You're welcome. The most passive aggressive thing i've seen all day lol The original text was really rude to begin with. On a great note, we can interchange power armors with b...

Re: 0.17 Coal Liquefaction

This is actually a great change! What no one mentioned is lube, which is in much higher demand late in the game in .17 then it was in .16. Especially, since we now need to make robot frames, which need electric engines, and which needs lube, and the only way to make lube is from heavy oil. This cha...

https://live.staticflickr.com/7237/27145415652_e4ec40fd04_c.jpg picture of actual light weight structure what also bugs me is that the recipe needs a lot of steel and copper, which is the opposite of light weight. Sure its nice for balancing but I think it should be changed to copper wires and iron...

Re: Uranium Enriching

Besides map generation (which is a necessary evil,) factorio is a relatively rng-free game. Players hate the uncertainty of rng and it only enforces boring gameplay within nuclear (ie. rushing and hoarding for koverex before nuclear power)

This exact thing is discussed all of the time :p

Re: Recipe of poison capsule

I love the idea of crafting the capsules in chemical plants, as they would be considered chemical/biological warfare.
I would also purpose the idea of lubricant or heavy oil in slowdown capsules, for consistency.

Before .17, I don't think anybody could actually tell what was actually happening inside that sprite.
I like the high tech hexagonal design, but I would loose a bit of the curve, or at least make the wavelength of the entire plate larger than it is now.

[posila] [0.17.x] personal laser turret info inaccuracy

Image
The Personal laser defense claims it benefits from laser turret shooting speed, but does not actually shoot faster or use more energy.

[kovarex] [0.17.39] Cannon shells fire backwards

Regular uranium cannon shells aimed at the tank it is shooting from fire in the opposite direction of the tank's turret head.

Uranium rounds magazines #ohwait
I understand uranium ammo is balanced in such a way that it "competes" against laser turrets, but the amount of uranium 238 you need for each magazine compared to how much you have is negligible to none.

Re: Major uranium ore sink

I've had ideas about this in the past, some good and bad. Uranium fuel cell reprocessing tech should cost more science packs but give some/net+ uranium 235 back, to encourage nuclear power use before Koverex enrichment. Overall I believe nuclear power is way too resource efficient regarding the amou...

Re: [0.17] Low density structure with expensive recipe seems greatly out of alignment

This is almost certainly intentional, and I kind of like the quantity of plastics needed in this recipe. In expensive mode there are no other oil fractions besides petroleum that get up-scaled, so plastic in LDSs balance out the oil/ore ratio in space science. For as late game as it is, 5 plastic as...

[.17.x]Small questions regarding nuclear power tech

Is there any reason as to why uranium fuel cells are locked in nuclear fuel processing and not nuclear power? I'm no developer, but it would be fair to assume that there was a reason behind this? Was it needed to help explain the uranium drop chances or to somehow benefit mod creators? Have any of t...

Burner Inserters

With the new assembler energy consumption streamlining forcing higher tier assemblers to use more energy per craft, I believe it makes inconsistencies with other entities (ie. many early game burner devices). It would be understandable to keep the energy consumption of stone furnaces and arguably bu...

Re: Friday Facts #286 - Pollution cleanup

On the topic of pollution and biters. Now sure what the future holds in regards to pollution. But personally i feel kinda sad that pollution is so superficial imo. I think it would be cool and interesting if it was more visual, instead of having to look at a map and see a red circle, which supposed...

Even after you change and save it in game?
Yep, still with no effect. I've set it to 100% many times both in and out of a server but it changes back to 50% every time I restart factorio.
