Re: Friday Facts #278 - The new quickbar

Have you considered the pros/cons of going from monolithic releases to a more frequent release cycle/timed release cycle? I can defiantly say that there would be a lot of people who would be happy if the things that were finished were released sooner, instead of waiting for potentially unrelated pie...

Re: Friday Facts #258 - New autoplace

Ok I love that the generator is getting looked at. but I have to say, I have ONE major downside to the current decision. Specifically that of no oil in the starting area. I think that should be an option to exclude oil from the starting area, (heck, the ability to set every ore density/size in the s...

Re: Friday Facts #257 - NPE/Campaign update

I like the majority of the science changes. I do have to say tho, if 0.17 is still the plan for the 1.0 candidate, its a poor decision to have the shallow water not be in free play. Especially for the fact that the campaign feels like just a large tutorial for free play. Imagine then having somethin...

Re: Friday Facts #254 - No research queue for you

How often does a player research automated rail transportation (train stops), doesn't want to research rail signals, and still cares about the rail signal research's tiny science cost? Compare this to the number of playthroughs where somebody scrolls around in the science list, notices the signals ...

Re: Friday Facts #254 - No research queue for you

People only ask for a research queue because the granularity of techs is too high. Fix the issue, not the symptom! For example, on the oil and train stuff. It's like every little item or recipe has its own research. Just group them together! Who cares about the option of saving a tiny but of resour...

Re: Friday Facts #254 - No research queue for you

I vehemently disagree with the decision to remove the research queue, and I have one VERY specific reason for it. I have played the beginning game DOZENS of times and am sick of having to set up those same beginning researches again and again. Its just annoying. Lock it behind a must have beaten the...

Re: Friday Facts #240 - Factorio-data & Fast pipe replace

Good luck with the move I will say one quick not about the quick replace. It would be REALLY nice to have a hotkey(holding shift) to enable or disable quick replace (underground/splitter -> belt at least). When building complex structures with a lot of stuff around, it gets really annoying to have a...

Re: Assembly Machine Fluid Sharing

Assemblers, and other building, may have recipes that use more fluids. Theoretically, You may have recipe that use water and acid, so auto-sharing may be impractical. Also, You do not place miners next to buildings that accepts other fluids, so mishaps is not real threat. Assemblers are different, ...

Assembly Machine Fluid Sharing

I was watching xterminator's most recent Tightening The Belt episode and when he placed the pipes down I began to wonder, is there any particular reason that assemblers don't fluid share when next to each other like mining drills or boilers? Is there a mod that might implement this anywhere? I want ...

we have come to the conclusion that we need more time Calmer heads have prevailed. The solution to most problems is simply time, and I am grad to see that you are taking time here, if not to implement a more complex solution, at least to analyze what has been said more closely. Good luck at the con...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

oh, a final note to those who claim loaders are op,
Make the price 6 stack inserters, a blue chips, 5 reds, and a speed module 1/2. literally the same amount of material as it takes to unload to a full blue belt + some.

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

So, on a scale from 1 to 10, how afraid of tomorrow FFF everyone is? 4 I used to trust the devs, and still mostly do, but then they changed barrels without asking for feedback as far as I recall. Also mostly because I have heard rumors that some of the devs are not taking kindly to the feedback and...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

After reading more and more posts, I keep coming to the same conclusion, as much as I hate it. The only way to currently solve the balance problem without simply changing a number that already exists, (which would only lead to ups issues as the player solution would just be to add more, and I can do...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

That's funny, I might be wrong, but I get the feeling that most people who ask for a bot debuff actually mostly play without them (or with very little of them). So basically, it's a "bots should be nerfed because I don't use them, so it won't change my playstyle, while hindering the pleasure o...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

I dont know if this has been mentioned yet, but what if the belts didnt automagically have jobs assigned to them? What if you had to specify that you want 10 bots moving items from point A to point B, stopping to charge at port C?

Re: Version 0.16.16

0.16 has officially become the release of "remove as many options as possible" for me. You have broken belts, barrels, talked about breaking bots, and now splitters, removing what was a perfectly functional part of the game, only because you believed that it was not a good thing for the ga...

I don't like the barrel capacity changes. Stack size changes make more sense, accomplish the same goal, and don't effect the rest of the factory.

Re: Has Mod Autodownload actually been implemented

We are still at the early versions of 0.16. Autodownload of 0.16 may come sooner than you think, maybe ven be mentioned in tomorrows FFF. indeed, the issue is that it was moved to implemented but not actually implemented (in current available releases) or announced as such anywhere that I could fin...
