Re: Wiki revived
What's there to explain? Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and ora...

Re: New inserter
Perhaps to become smart inserter, you need to have electric circuits, iron plates and a steel wheel?

Re: [0.7.1] video ram minimum 512mb
I see that loading in game as nice to have. What really bugs is, that players with less ram cannot play. Currently I would be glad if a requester pops up, with some text, which file I need to change and I think, everyone else too.

Re: [0.7.1] Unchecking "Use item groups" doesn't work
In Islamic countries week begins at Saturday... There are countries, which have only 1/2 hour shift to the time zones. In most countries of Europe in dates the middle number is month, not day. UTF-8 has over 40000 chars and only the first 1000 are used mainly in Europe/America.

Re: New inserter
Hm. I would say, discussed many times: this handling is part of the gameplay. Your example is one of the easiest: make a belt with copper- and iron plates. Assembly 1 takes copper and produces wire and assembly 2 takes plates and produced wire (directly out of the assembly 1, which stands of course ...

Re: Version 0.7.1
Q has double function, at first in unselects the stack in hand and then it switches weapon. I always mixing up, when I have something in my hand and when not. So I moved switching weapons to another key (I think >). The current behavior is a problem I made many tests (with some other key setups) and...

Would see that under nice to have. Cause when it needs only small time, then it can be also no time.

Re: Version 0.7.1
My point is, that the quickbar is some kind too flexible. :) I bet, that only 30% of the gamers found out, how it worked with the middle-mouse. I mean, the concepts are not logical and clear. Sometimes it is the item you select, what you built. Sometimes it is the weapon you select, what you fight. ...

Re: Version 0.7.1
I mean the quick bar is ... not well designed. There are some behavior of it, which makes it really uncool, e.g. if the stuff runs out. I already wrote some articles about it... the problem is, that it behaves like a stack. And I won't that, because this is really not like in reality. In reality I t...

Btw: I would LOVE, if planned refining worked a bit like this. Very much easier of course. For example having two sorts of input, which need to be in the right ratio, and heated to the right point.

Re: Scrap Cleanup
In SimCity and other games, removing scrap (trees, uneven landscape, dirt etc.) just takes a bit more money. For Factorio it means: Placing needs a bit more time. Hm. Don't really like that. Because it is questionable, what that brings for the gameplay. I mean that in the end placing and removing it...

Re: Factorio Roadmap
There is currently the Factorio Friday Facts and the Random Ramblings, which explain much more, than a roadmap. I mean also, that a software, which is made in an agile process like this doesn't need a roadmap. This is old style. Roadmaps are for customers, which need to plan 2 years into future. Do ...

Re: [0.7.1] video ram minimum 512mb
I mean now this is a good solution and for the future I think that there are many more solutions possible. E. g. core mods, which doesn't count as "modification" but as graphics-style. Or a clever zooming mode, or a we version of a library... Who knows?

Re: [0.6.4] Graphical issues on Linux - Intel
That seems a bit strange to me becouse when I check Factorio Graphic folder its isze is under 80 MB. In what format does Allegro stores the images? If it is plain bitmap then it would be understandable as most game graphics are saved as PNG's. Also does Allegro support texture compression? Texture ...

[0.7.1] video ram minimum 512mb
Searched now 2 hours why I'm on my Mac wont be able to play it after update to 0.7.1. Reason is, that I have internal a Radeon with 256 MB. The following happens: game starts, looks normal. Then, when opening inventory with E the grafix is destroyed. Then I remembered https://forums.factorio.com/for...

Re: Destroying Car Should Drop Items
Wouldn't this look stupid, if you drove it in the middle of the foe and then there is some wreckage left? I keep meaning, that its better to have it sometimes, and sometimes not, depending on the density of other stuff around, for example, if there are already some wreckage parts, then it won't make...

It's more like in reality, where you can buy Twix only in packs of 2, no matter, if you need only one.
