Re: [1.1.1] Stuttering and big UPS drop when biters attack
There's a just over tenth of a second spike in "Gui update", do you see that when hovering over the alert or something, or is it just generally stuttery?

Re: [1.1.1] No power icon is of centre for steam engine
Nobody cared about this for past 3 years Now technically we've only had 2.96 years to complain since 0.16 released. I'm very disappointed in Wube for infringing on my obligatory 3-year complaining period. (Oh wait Posila only said I could nitpick about every minutia of the game. Apologies, retracte...

Re: [1.1.1] No power icon is of centre for steam engine
It seems a tad too high for me on the horizontal rotation - I noticed it a few weeks ago and almost reported it but didn't get around to it. It's understandable if it's not the technical center, but it doesn't look like it's in the "visual" center either.

NaB, auto-update was turned off for the moment due to various issues (91657#p521967, 91658)

Re: [1.1.0] Underground replacement with blueprints acting strangely
I've been encountering an issues that is likely related. Trying to place lower tier undergrounds on a ghost i.e. putting a yellow underground on a red or blue underground ghost in the correct orientation is crashing my game. Haven't been able to try putting a higher tier underground on a lower tier...

Interesting, if done correctly this could be a good reason to avoid using balancers.

Re: Version 1.1.0
I was going to reply to a comment on when 1.1 would be out a few hours ago, but scrapped it because I couldn't be bothered to finish writing it and I might come to regret making predictions... I should have made bolder predictions. Optimisations Multithreaded belt update logic. Excuse me WHAT? Why d...

Re: Recommended ram speed
I can't tell you anything for certain, but here are the three things I'd say: 1. Even if no one core is pegged at 100%, if CPU usage is consistently well above 25% it could just be due to the OS passing threads between cores, which happens (frequently?), presumably for thermal benefit (not sure if t...

Re: Interesting puzzle:
Is hand crafting instant? Does the prohibition on hand mining specifically refer to resources or everything? Is it correct to assume that "miners" specifically refers to burner miners, and as a result there is no benefit from any production of coal (due to implicit power) and potentially c...

Re: [1.0] Screenshot issues in Linux GNOME
no, when I say Steam is a waste of CPU, i mean, it's been known to (on Linux especially) cause unnecessary CPU use in some web browser portion of the Steam application, which actually hurts Factorio performance . this is why I switched to Standalone copy on Linux. Ah, interesting. If I remember cor...

Re: [1.0] Screenshot issues in Linux GNOME
Steam is a waste of CPU, just for taking a screenshot with . Most likely (although Factorio doesn't really waste CPU, so obviously you need something to do so :P), but presumably it would actually work for taking screenshots, unlike Gnome. Scrot appears to be something that would also work, from my...

Re: [1.0] Screenshot issues in Linux GNOME
Unfortunately I'm not using Steam, I have the "direct" install of the game. I assumed that by buying it directly on the website, Wube will get more cash, while Steam is probably already profitable enough (; You're correct in that assumption, but you can get a Steam key after buying it fro...

Re: Lag in Big Sur
So according to that screenshot, Factorio is running at 5888 x 3188. However that seems to be almost double the reported screen resolution of a new MACBook Pro (3072x1920). So it looks like OSX is rendering Factorio at double resolution, then downscaling it. I would expect that there should be some...
