Re: Extend mod filter when browsing public multiplayer games
Good idea. Just to clarify, would you want to filter for mod version as well?

Re: [1.1.46]Non-blocking-save leaks memory
Does the issue go away if you use blocking save?
I tried reproducing the problem with vanilla factorio, and it doesn't happen. Non-blocking save at 1min intervals, game.speed=100. It constantly saves, but no memory is leaked.
If you want, you can share your save and we can help investigate.

Re: better compression algorithm for saves and mods
please don't spam this suggestion with a link to a thread that contains a lot of unrelated suggestions  You complained about big downloads for MP maps, that thread deals with that as well. Hardly unrelated. adding a compression algorithm is much simpler and more attainable than whatever that ...

Re: Factorio crashed in Entity Renderer on AMD Ryzen CPU
This is a hardware defect, no update will fix this. The issue is very well documented, you can find details if you search the forum for EntityRenderer in Technical Help and Bug Reports. Unless you can reliably reproduce the crash there is nothing suggesting an issue inside the game. Out of curiosit...

Re: Old game save takes long time to load and save
For me, it saves in ~15sec. Do you have a SSD? That would speed things up massively.
What makes your save big
Calidus Orbit - You can get 700MB by deleting it.
Nauvis - You can get 160MB by trimming it.

Pretty sure there's no surface size statistics in the game. Am I wrong?
Yes.

Log saving statistics per surface
TL;DR Add statistics for surface size when saving. What ? Additionally to what statistic is currently logged when saving, add the statistic per surface. Preferably split into tiles/entities/... like the current statistics. Why ? Space Exploration saves get very big - it would be helpful to see what...

Re: Can't Connect To Server: Map won't get downloaded
Everyone else except me successfully connects to the server. I will try to find and delete this migration files too, if it works I will update the post. You do have the exact same factorio version, right? If everyone else can connect, are you sure you cleaned up the right files? I tried deleting mi...

Re: Can't Connect To Server: Map won't get downloaded
I don’t know, maybe someone else will have more ideas, but off the bat, that version of FARL is way out of date. It’s possible the issue you’re encountering has already been solved in a later version. Further, that version of FARL was for Factorio v0.17. That’s all I’ve got. *shrug* That migration ...

Re: Old game save takes long time to load and save
Probably because the save gets too big. How big is the resulting save?
Keep in mind that you can delete/trim surface with SpaceExploration, that improves the performance.
Feel free to upload the save so we can test as well.

Re: Alt-F4 #52 - Fluidic Power Benchmarking
Doesn't look as nice but you can draw a line between the poles. Mhhh, not sure how that looks. I think that there should just be an interface option to disable the production statistics, just like there is an option to disable replay. I think it should be more specialized than that. I wouldn't want...

Re: Alt-F4 #52 - Fluidic Power Benchmarking
IMO it should stay as a mod. I'd rather have more control over electricity from the modding API to reduce the effect of the Electric Network. I'm still thinking of a good modding interface request to make to achieve this, so if anyone has ideas please share :P What could help would be the option to...

Wouldn't that imply that ideas like viewtopic.php?t=68761 are not inherently as imperformant as one would assume?

Re: Add 7-zip support to game
Regarding save compression we already have a suggestion . zstd would be better than LZMA, but the advantage to zlib isn't really big. For mods, I don't see the point either. I tried with the mods I have: for /d %X in (*) do "7z.exe" -mx=9 a "%X.7z" "%X\" The size was 2....

Re: Caching for multiplayer map download
No, you just assumed/claimed a 300MB save would have half as many entities as your save, so just 15MB entities. Might be true, might be false, who knows. I picked one of the biggest megabases I could find. That means most other bases are smaller. I obviously can't speak for all bases, but statistic...
