Re: Factorio is my new Minecraft
Normally, when adding "the" in front of "shit" it is a compliment. Without "the" then its an insult. "You guys are the shit" versus "you guys are shit"... big difference only three letters make. I am not familiar with this colloquial language, so th...

Re: Coding language of Factorio?
Nice Thread :) @metzyn For a Textgame Slick might be a bit too much :) Still it seems to be a bit outdated (ran into great issues as soon as we needed multithreading at loadtime) http://slick.javaunlimited.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5171 Maybe not for a textgame, but for other projects libgdx migh...

Re: Coding language of Factorio?
I am working on a game myself using Java and the Slick2D API. Nothing complicated like Factorio, in fact 95% is text-based. Making an "interactive fiction" -esque game similar to Zork. Its my first project so I'm trying to start simple. Anyway, because I'm starting to get into game develop...

Re: Factorio is my new Minecraft
Sweet! A developer read my post! You guys are the shit... I can't tell you enough how much enjoy this game. AAA titles might look amazing but game-play is 90% of my experience. You guys are awesome and I'm one of the most loyal fans you'll have. Plus, I used to write plugins for Minecraft servers so...

Factorio is my new Minecraft
I purchased the game around version 2.x and now playing on 4.x... 30+ hours so far and counting! This game has replaced Minecraft as my new addiction. It's a shame this game has not sold more copies than just 2,500. I would have thought tens of thousands would be sold by now. Notch needs to tweet th...

Re: GUI - Unknown Position Error
Also... unsure if this is a bug... When I create a new game the size of the frame is super skinny and doesn't allow all the text to be displayed. When I save and close the frame reformats to the correct size. And then... if I change the code of the mod, such as what the caption of the actual frame i...

Re: GUI - Unknown Position Error
Thanks! The wiki is extremely limited and vague so it forces a lot of trial and error to get things working. Also, I cannot seem to get my frame looking decent. How can I format the text to be centered in the frame? game.oninit(function() game.player.gui.top.add{type="frame", name="co...

Re: Laser turrets allways cause blackouts.
Its not always about how many steam engines you have. Keep in mind that you need quite a few boilers to keep up the temperature. The more electrial demand the faster hot water gets used. I have about 10 steam engines all attached to 1 pump between 16 boilers. Its the boilers that help me prevent bla...

GUI - Unknown Position Error
I've been struggling with the GUI modding code. Everytime I use the position field when adding a new element I receive the below error upon opening a game.
Unknown position: ontherightofthegoal
What am I doing wrong? According to the wiki this is the only supported position at the moment.

[BUG?] Inserters & Assembling Machines (0.2.10)
Inserters will not continue placing objects/resources into assembling machines. Inserters will pick up 2-4 objects and place them into the machines and then suddenly stop. The machine needs more material but inserters do not pick up at all.
