I would also like if you could see your starting area, or spawn. Now it is "somewhere in the middle" and therefore hard to find as well. Especially since my screen is to small to show the whole preview at once.

Definitely a very good suggestion.

Although it would probably only make sense when you've got a factory already running for some time. And it might be a bit confusing with assembling machines, inserters etc. displayed as well. But that is the case already :? :D

a solution would be that (in automatic mode) only if at least one locomotive points in each direction, the train could drive in both directions, with all locomotives working all the time

Making blueprints often takes me some time, especially when I want to keep them for future projects and therefore care about naming and selecting icons for them. This time not just a train vanished, but all of them and all roboports, beacons and probably some other stuff as well.

But it seems to fix itself by restarting factorio completely, which takes, due to my poor laptop, several minutes

I have loaded a 15.x map in 16.0 . After pausing the game while riding a train (2 locomotives, 1 artillery Wagon, 7 wagons, 2 locomotives) through hitting esc , the train turned invisible when I unpaused the game. it still worked just as every other train. I like the idea of using early game items in other recipes. And I would be happy if you could do it with every item!
