Re: Anyone Ryzen Benchmarks?

Not sure if anyone cares but that "reference map" runs at around 52UPS on my i5-6600K @3.5GHz and 32GB of dual-channel RAM at 2400MHz (nothing is overclocked) in Linux with factorio version 0.14.23. During night it drops to ~45UPS. I have GTX 770 video card. Wait... wat? Are you talking a...

Bug by design is still a bug from the end user point of view... it doesn't matter whether the design is bad or the implementation.

Why not try to decompile the exe and see exactly how the file is written? It comes with a pdb file with all the symbols :D

Re: Why does LAN require internet connection?

I think this is for players not sharing their copy of the game to play LAN. Each one should have his game ... Internet connection for LAN gaming is not a big issue, when you have LAN 99% of the time you have internet. Internet connection for solo is annoying. This game is supposed to be DRM free. T...

Re: Loader Poll - Trying to get an idea of what the opinions are

5. Loaders should be dumb. So if loader picked an item to output via it's right hatch, it shouldn't be able to change it's choice even if recipient doesn't accept this item. This can cause jams. Can't see where this would apply. The loader is always between a belt piece and a storage unit, so this ...

Re: Loader Poll - Trying to get an idea of what the opinions are

1. Removal of filtering ability, it doesn't make sense. Their job is the bulk throughput, not smart filtering. 2. Randomization of output. Again, a bulk item transfer device shouldn't be able to sort through item types in the chest it's emptying. So random items from the chest should be picked, not...

Re: [0.15.4] can't catch up 16% cpu usage

I know that is very complex, thats why im saying they need a person who can code it. With an Kickstarter Projekt they can earn money to pay that person. If the kickstarter goal is reached, they can hire one to code it. If the kickstarter is a fail, factorio will not become a multicore support.. No ...

Re: If you could walk on pipes in Factorio, would you build less underground pipes?

Normal pipes look way nicer. I'd use them everywhere if they weren't like a wall :D

Doesn't make any sense really. Dude can walk across a moving belt full of pipe segments, but not across a pipe placed on the ground...

Re: [0.15.6] Splitter throughput

I don't think changing it to per-lane, per-item-type will prevent those contraptions from working. You'd just have to prime each lane separately, then you got an even better filter :D

Re: [0.15.6] Splitter throughput

Each lane is split separately already. lefts to lefts, rights to rights. there is per-item-type stats to balance outputs, and logics (which had bug on sparse transport lines) to handle inputs. I will check your example to see why it behaves like this. I didn't test in 0.15 specifically, but in 0.14...

That might be the case with splitter changing input/output lines logics - should be fixed. Famous splitter filtering thing still should be operational though.
Did you change the splitter to split each lane separately? Been waiting for that change since quite a long time... :D

Re: [0.15.6] Splitter throughput

Splitters logics has been greately revised in belts optimization (comes 0.16). One particular thing about splitters - they allowed more items to be stored inside than regular belts (i.e. sequence of splitters allow to pack more items inside than same sequence of belts). Another thing - there were t...

Re: Loader Poll - Trying to get an idea of what the opinions are

Well I've no idea how to set up high res graphics either, but it's probably as simple as changing the loader prototype to look for sprites with twice the size.
