I'm pretty sure it already does this, since I requested it like 1 year ago?

Re: Load Balncing Proxy for Servers
Each of your instances would still have to process the entire world to be deterministic, so you don't gain anything from this.
The world state is too large, has too many dependencies across it to be able to synchronize it in some reasonable way.

If you post your save, I could tell you how much faster it runs on my pc with a 7700k.
It's an absolute beast for factorio though. Even some of the megabases can be played at stable 60 ups

Re: Friday Facts #195 - Poles re-design
All I want from an electric pole redesign is to have the small pole centered in its tile. It drives me crazy the way it can move from one side of its tile to the other just based on its connections to other poles. This makes it really hard to place, because it looks like I've moved it from one tile...

How does it look if you just render the current poles at 2x resolution?

Re: If you could walk on pipes in Factorio, would you build less underground pipes?
It seems pretty broken to me that an underground pipe of the same length moves fluid more efficiently, so I'm just assuming they will fix that at some point. Not sure what the fix is though... making the underground one less efficient just to match the overground ones also seems pretty stupid doesn'...

If the T belt is not a new item, how do you build one?grimdanfango wrote:Fair points, but I wasn't suggesting adding a dedicated lane-blocker... I've been suggesting adding a simple T-junction belt piece, where each half points in a different direction.

Re: If you could walk on pipes in Factorio, would you build less underground pipes?
Or do you think underground pipes look prettier? I would not - for flow capacity reasons and the ability to place them beside eachother. An underground pipe of length 10 counts as 1 pipe section for calculating flow, so for longer pipes using underground pipes makes more sense. That also needs to b...

Re: If you could walk on pipes in Factorio, would you build less underground pipes?
Nope, I would still use lots of underground pipes because most of the time I use UGPs it's for the sake of getting stuff out of the way of construction, and also for flow speed. A UGP is like one pipe length per piece no matter how long it is. It makes a big difference if you have Bob's on the inst...

You could temporarily change the scaling in windows to 100% for that screen, launch factorio and enable manual scaling there, then change it back in windows

Re: Loader Poll - Trying to get an idea of what the opinions are
I don't like loaders because their appearance doesn't suggest their function. Inserters, splitters and underground belts all look nice. A loader is just a rectangular prism. What it does, particularly when filtering, is anyone's guess (from the appearance). Unless the devs can deliver some artwork ...

Not sure if anyone cares but that "reference map" runs at around 52UPS on my i5-6600K @3.5GHz and 32GB of dual-channel RAM at 2400MHz (nothing is overclocked) in Linux with factorio version 0.14.23. During night it drops to ~45UPS. I have GTX 770 video card. Wait... wat? Are you talking a...
