Add modules (efficiency, speed, productivity? probably prod + speed) and you get much more than +50%. Just saying!

Curious, have you tried Creeper World 3? There is no crafting component (yet) but there is RTS/building and it might solve your craving in some way.

Guess what! The team is working pretty hard on the GUI for the last year or so, it's bound to get much more usable - though not pretty. It's not meant to be pretty, it's enginering software! ;)

"Continue last game" would be a better name. Keep in mind that Factorio is engineered like a CAD software.


Or, rather, on ther right side there could be a box with X last games played both SP and MP so that player could have a very handy shortcut for that.

I'd say just use the Clusterio API and write a mod, you can connect it to something as simple as HTTP on the outside. If you have any trouble, contact the dev. Super nice guy :)

You need ~3k/s of oil for a 1rpm factory if my math is not off. It being ~3 pipes over long distances is OK in my opinion.

Lua is a very crappy and quite slow language (though with lua jit it got better), something like Python would be much more powerful. Mods in factorio are often very big pieces of complex code. Also I don't know whether there were some problems with determinism of Lua for multiplayer.

There is a big issue with the proposal "one blueprint bar to rule all games": what about mods and blueprints with custom entities, how are they gonna behave between games?

It's an interesting idea to integrate it into the game. For now Factorio has got irc channel - there is plenty of active people at all times :)

I'd say that QT is super heavy and not really suited for games - more for applications. Factorio needs just something light to do inputs/windowing, not a big framework you'd have to rewrite half of the game to fit into.
