Re: Anyone standardizing on very long trains?
Gonna be honest, I really love long train but I really don't like the look of them having like 4+ locos one/both ends. Seperate loco evenly between the wagons, it looks better. Eg: LCCCCLCCCCLCCCC looks better than LLLCCCCCCCCCCCC I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'bigger footprint'. It seems to ...

Re: Anyone standardizing on very long trains?
i agree that long trains are much more better than short trains, especially using nuclear fuel. the only downside is the bigger footprint. my suggestion is to place rail between (through) your base. now the offloading length is as long as your base. Was wondering if there were any good bases that we...

Oil patch show oil/s instead of %
Example, instead of showing 80% oil patch, show 8 oil/s . This applies to tooltip and map view (total oil patch). Dont really know why using % in the first place. Percentage usually compare to something that is 100%. Eg: A discount of 20% means compare the reduction to 100% original price. In this c...

Re: Pipette work for crafting list if "pick ghost item.." is set to yes
A workaround is set filter in hotbar.
Pipette doesnt interact with craft menu. Press Q basically interact with entities behind the menu, if there exist one. Changing this is big project, isnt likely to happen.

Re: huge problem with soler panels
seems like u are using lasers. they eat alot of power. i would suggest use a mixture of gun, laser turrets. also flamethrower turrets if you have oil to spare.

Re: Bigger miners covering a bigger area for mid and late game.
There is a mod or two that has you mining clumps, that then get processed into some quantity of ore each. That’s not new. i would like to check out the mod. however, if its part of some big overhaul mods then im not interested. as for "interesting part" you are right 3x3 can be interestin...

Re: Bigger miners covering a bigger area for mid and late game.
i like the idea that humongous miners comes with other logistic challenge to overcome. look at turrets: tier 1: gun, require items (magazines) tier 2: laser, require power tier 3: flamethrower, require fluids, has minimum range. miners: tier 1: burner, require items (fuel) tier 2: electric, require ...

Re: Miners with bigger radius for mid and late game.
same size bigger radius, no. ocd me would just clump them together, nothing change.
what i want is bigger size, like Omega Drill
edit: seems like i misunderstood the title: not mining radius, but miner's radius (i.e. size) ._.

Re: New infinite research
i think infinite bot battery should be given to construction bots only. currently logistic-bot are so overpowered compare to belts. if battery research are given to logistic-bot (which i already dislike the idea) , it should be at most one level of research. otherwise 1. blueprint incompatible , 2. ...

My guess, currently it counts how many of each item is produced x minutes ago, and divide by x. Bigger x for bigger timescale and vice versa.
From math perspective, I wonder how to implement smoothing, probably need convolution with bell curve, and therefore cost ups. Its not that easy.

Re: Upgrade planner to Replace planner (ctrl+H)
I wouldn't call that a concrete example. What would you replace with what? https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?p=536085#p536085 When designing this i frequently need to swap between vanilla entity with CM variant, for stress testing and checking bottleneck. Example would be roboports, various...

Re: Upgrade planner to Replace planner (ctrl+H)
Just so you know, the autotorio website exists. only works for vanilla. Why? I can't think about any situation where it would be useful to replace entity to a totally unrelated entity.... Upgrade planner already allows to replace anything belonging to the same fast-replace group. If the mod doesn't...
