Underground belts can be used to split the left and right lanes of a belt. See this page from the Wiki:

Edit to add: This still needs two inserters. You will have to use red and green wires to limit the amount each inserter will put in the chest.

The code BenSeidel posted will kill all the biters and spawners in already generated chunks. When you explore more you will generate more chunks and they will contain biters. I am not sure if the pollution cloud will also generate chunks.

Which is way less cool :). Why not have the train do something useful if it is going around the loop anyway? You could put every station on the loop in each schedule, and disable/enable stations as resources are requested and available.... Wow. That sounds like lots of fun when you add a station.

You do not need circuits. Put a chest in the corner of the belt and have an inserter take items from the belt on the upstream side and another to put back in the belt on the down stream side. I do not use Bob's, but with no mods I wonder if you are using a level 2 (blue) assembler. The level 1 assembler can only make items with two components. The inserter requires three components (Gear wheels, iron plate and circuit).
