...that a base can sustain? That's the part of your question I'm having trouble with. Without the ability to measure the in-flow of resources and then the hijacking of intermediate products for other uses (such as coal diverted to fuel your other stuff like trains, boilers, etc.) there's no meaning...

Re: Biter rebalance

I'm partly with you, but my experience with the aliens/biters are a bit different. Some counter-points: 1. In all of my games I've ever played, alien bases never "spawn". This is how it works in the games I've played: An existing alien base makes biters and spitters which gather in a certa...

Re: Underground belt lane splitting, anyone else hate it?

This topic goes along with my pet-peeve about inserters placing far instead of close (or being able to choose) which are a couple of the reasons why I don't favor belts and move to robotics when I can. I sympathize with you milo christiansen, but not so far as being hateful and calling the way it is...

Re: (0.15.10+) Water and Steam, what's the plan?

Steam can be used by generators to produce power, water cannot. I'm delivering steam to an outpost to power it, no need to string power lines on remote locations now and no need for the outpost to be really big to accommodate the other ways of producing the equivalent power either. I'd rather turn ...

If you're on robotic logistics, use the roboport signal to measure the level of items you're producing, and when it gets low, turn on the beacons.

Re: Loader Poll - Trying to get an idea of what the opinions are

In respect to loading chests: If you're loading chests as fast you're producing, why are you storing the item? Just produce as needed. For loading trains: I can see value here, gets the train loaded faster. If the devs set the power requirements of the loader appropriately then some interesting dive...

Thanks for the interesting topic here. The I'm currently running 6 columns of 8 generat...

Re: Does anyone even use rocket launcher or landmines?

I use the rocket launcher but it's one of the last items I tech into. You have to be really careful when launching the atomic bomb from it... but the range with it loaded is very far. So far that you can stand far enough away to not agro a very large nest and destroy most if not all of it. Saves a t...

When I loaded my 0.15.9 map into 0.15.10 after a while I noticed my steam delivery train had water in it's tanks... easy fix, but just thought I'd post it as an FYI. (500°C) Steam powered outposts are still good for me. Thanks for adding steam as a fluid in network logics. I thought it odd to measur...

Re: How far apart are your buildings?

How far apart are your buildings? do you manufacture everything separated as soon as you get the railway system? Or do you keep moving like me? I keep everything tight, moving things as tech becomes available. If things are placed too far apart, you need more logistics (belts, bots, or trains) to g...
