Re: [0.12.26] [cube] Slow multiplayer

Hi, this is a duplicate of viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20532 (and many other similar reports).
These problems are probably caused by packet loss and hopefully will be fixed soon (can't say when exactly, though).

Re: ( 12.22 ) Headless server crash.

This error was actually caused by something else than kovarex said. His fix will still help with the symptoms, though. I suggest banning source IP after 10 such packets/similar offenses -- otherwise headless servers will be useless now that you've opened the Internet's most famous kidiots storage (a...

Re: [0.12.26] [cube] Headless dedicated server shuts itself down

I don't think so, these would just cause lost packets and we can handle those. Your problem looks like a network interface on the VM suddenly going missing. I found this blog post that talks about the same error message caused by bad routing table, but the fact that you can restart the server afterw...

Re: [0.12.26] [cube] Headless dedicated server shuts itself down

The only real problem I see in the log file is the Network unreachable error 10 lines from the end. Basically sending packet failed and Factorio just gave up and turned off. Did you have any network connectivity problems or changes in network configuration while playing?

So your server is not bombarded by anyone, we just read the log wrong :-)

Re: [0.12.24][steam][linux] [ondra] Factorio hangs on exit

I've managed to replicate this bug, it really is caused by nvidia-drivers-361.28 on Gentoo (and Funtoo as well)

Re: steam dedicated server problems

Was it this thread? https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=20594 :-) Demo doesn't support multiplayer and doesn't support loading non-demo saves (as you have seen in the error messages). There is a minor bug in 0.12.24 that it doesn't complaint about these limitations soon enough when ...

Re: problem updating

Hi, this is weird. Is your internet connection working properly? The "Update now" button downloads differences between the versions. In some cases however you might be better off to just download the game manually. Anyway, please post a Log file from one of the failed update attempts -- ma...

Hi, try limiting maximal texture size in the config file.

Add a line containing

Code: Select all

max-texture-size=2048
into the

Code: Select all

[graphics]
section of config.ini

Trailer

We are preparing a new trailer for the release of Factorio on Steam. Unlike the current one, the new trailer will have narration, so we'd like to ask for some help with translating subtitles at https://crowdin.com/project/factorio-trailer . Only languages with full translations will be used with the...

Re: TLS problems & packaging for NixOS

Actually there's a problem -- "~" doesn't get expanded. If you just don't put the config-path.cfg there, it will use a default which is using system directories and config in ~/.factorio/config. But this is ugly and should change. I'll add it to our list.

Re: TLS problems & packaging for NixOS

Okay, so overwriting the config file on every startup wasn't a good idea; the user's configuration gets mixed in with the paths I'm setting. So what I ended up doing was to edit that config file with sed, instead of overwriting it. I don't like this approach. (Can I have a flag for setting the data...

Re: TLS problems & packaging for NixOS

Hi, I'm working on packaging Factorio for NixOS. Because I love pain, I decided to teach it how to download Factorio, rather than depending on the user to supply a tarball, and that... *sort of* worked, but not quite; I'm having TLS problems. The procedure goes somewhat like this: > curl -c cookies...
