getting that robot to stand still is a tricky thing! Ill make sure in a later version that it delivers this message properly.

Please try to hold off on judgement for now, I think what we have planned for this will be still interesting. The art and level design should convey some sort of worldbuilding, but we dont want to answer any questions for the player.

actually the quest requires that you place a turret down, regardless of where you crafted it from. If you place turrets too far to the west, they dont register (fixed already). The new player would need to make this choice before understanding the consequences of the choice. At the time when a player decides that they want to make it easier, they probably are already capable of completing the challenge with a reload. - Paused hints are not feeling helpful, in fact my triggerhappiness would not appreciate any pauses. You are iching to do as the hint says but you have to press Tab and then forget what it says. The player should gather this information from the recipe tooltip. In fact i suspect it will work better if they become confused and say "why is one stone not enough?". If it becomes more of a problem then I will look into changing it.

Ive updated this section so that the player can stay "as long as they like", and eventually the biters come and attack slowly. The biters initially only attack miners and furnaces. Please try it out and give me your feedback on the new version.

Actually the plan is to remove the story completely, apart from the story you infer yourself.
Engineer has crashed on an alien world, that much is clear from the setting. We will reinforce this with the new crash site graphics. There is no plan to add story in the NPE or full length campaign.

resolved in new version, although you will still need to automate your defenses if you walk very far from your base for longer periods of time.

currently, it is not turned off, but during cutscenes the recipe icons do not show.
I suspect you pressed the "toggle alt mode" button during the cutscene after seeing the icons disapear. This would have disabled it (mouse and keyboard input are not blocked during cutscenes)

This step is designed to let the player apply knowledge they have to a different (but similar) problem. In the case of observed focus testers it is working very well.
