Re: Emergency power supply
Thanks. What I like most about it is the light show when if fires.
Unfortunately most of the time this happens I'm distracted elsewhere...
Make sure to leave space above and below the installation so that you can easily expand it if your factory grows bigger.

Don't close the mines instead reduce train limit to 0.
That should make them not skip them

Re: NO-PATH with multiple trains
What I see: The second train intends to drive through the buffer station at full speed as the first one did. When it starts pathfinding the second leg of its journey it realizes it can't do that because the way out is blocked. That's where the no path is thrown but is immediately resolved by switchi...

Re: [Not a Bug] Maybe a bug with temporaire stations?
Ltn doesn't work correctly if your trains can't unload what has been ordered.
1.) Try to set up your requesters so they only order what they can unload.
2.) In case 1 fails every train should be emptied in your depot.

Re: Compact 4.8 GW Nuclear Reactor
New version 1.4b - I noticed today that my "brown out proof" reactor had a serious flaw.
The battery that was meant to protect the core combinators was in reach of substations belonging to the main grid.
Error corrected - new version attached.

Re: Same netID, two depots: Will it favor the nearest?
Thanks. I just realised that the LTN part of my factory is old - pre train limit... So i could make that part a bit more dynamic and trains would park closer to where they where used. But the other end of the journey is still random correct? LTN chooses a random train in the same net ID for a job - ...

Re: Same netID, two depots: Will it favor the nearest?
Same net ID, same name?
I think it will choose the closest based on vanilla pathfinder calculation.
Which also means occupied is only a penalty.
Make sure all depots can hold all trains...

C) Use a provider station that fills the train exactly as ordered. D) Use a provider station that fills the train nearly as ordered and make sure your outposts can handle the excess materials It sounds like you have dedicated trains and a dedicated provider station. Why do you want to use ltn for th...

Re: Request X number of items from a inserter
Mainly because if you request say 100 iron for a certain chest then the plates cant be picked up in time by the inserter. You could stopp the belt after the inserter IF there is iron on the belt AND the inserter is not finished picking up what he ordered. But yes. What you are trying to accomplish ...

Similar topic with good explanations:

Short summary: Your train network has LOTS of intersections.
When you place a signal some of your trains are re-calculating their paths

3. Should I put walls/turrets around the tracks I build? No. The only tracks I guard are near the exit of my main base. https://wiki.factorio.com/Railway/Train_path_finding "When the rail block contains a train currently waiting at a rail signal -> Add a penalty of 100 + 0.1 for every tick the train has already waited." You can manipulate the decision by setting red lights by circuit network but I recommend...

Re: Train stations with multiple wares
Not sure about the whole setup but I maybe have an easy solution for your immediate problem: Set your station to read train content and send that signal into your ">8000" detection logic (on a different wire colour) That way what is inside your train is still considered to be inside the wa...
