Re: Suggestion: stop construction bots from entering combat
I am going to disagree laser turrets are more important the bots. I have had a couple fights where I would have died had bots not repaired the turrets and sacrificed them selves for the cause. Also if something is damaged I never want to have to wait for it to repair. At a certain point you can just...

Re: Rocket control parts so confused
Now my new number of AM 3s are RC 7 blue 3 speed 4 (with 1 speed 3) green 3 wire 4 red 9 iron 9* copper 13* plastic 1 *electric using 2 prod 3's Hopefully these will last more then 5 minutes this time :/ My only disappointments are it appears to produce .25/s too many blues and 26/s too many copper ...

Re: Rocket control parts so confused
Ha ha that makes much more sense lol Anyways here are the ratios I ended up with. It will over produce all the base products slightly but I can use those in other parts of the factory :) RC 7 blue 3 speed 4 (with 1 speed 3) green 3 red 9 iron 8 copper 15 plastic 1 And as I am writing this I realize ...

Re: Improving Car Driving Experience (Steering)
after about 40 hours of actual driving I am getting pretty good at the car :/ Not sure if I would like the sluggishness aka acceleration if it was implemented. I will hole hardheadedly agree it would make the game much more new user friendly. Especially if cars/tanks are viable endgame with modules ...

Re: Early super compact GREEN CIRCUIT
Actually now that you mention it isn't this design already copper starved? 6 * .75/.5 = 9 copper/s. half a yellow belt only gives 6 2/3 copper/s edit*** oh wait it is feeding from both sides very nice :D I see it now there is no need/possibility for expansion as it is an in place factory. You would ...

Re: Controlling liquid consumption priority
Really old post but I really like this idea. It does a couple things. 1. prioritizes the lube 2. allows full flow into cracking plants Remember pumps are limited to 30 fluid/s where as pipes over a short distance can get what 260 fluid/s with 180 fluid/s being more practical. My only suggestion is y...

Xeorm - BAH you are correct I totally forgot to add in the materials for the blue chips. Rocket control parts so confused
So I was doing some spread sheeting and I figured 1 plastic plant could support 6 rocket control units 1 sec to produce 2 plastic and Rocket control unit needs 10 plastic in 30 seconds (per the wiki) so 30 second = 60 plastic = 6 rocket control units. I add in all the extras for speed becons and pro...

Well I like the idea. I guess it really come down to how hard is it to implement and how many resources it requires.

Re: Train/Ore balancing
HAHA the balance loading/unloading debate again :p It is snake oil I tell ya!!!!! In a factory there are only 2 likely options 1. Supply > Demand 2. Supply < Demand On very rare and specific occasions does Supply = Demand In fact because miners decay it is most likely that you will start with case 1...

Re: Train/Ore balancing
HAHA it is a game you cant get out of your depth as long as you are having fun. I would make sure I have power armor mkII, 3-6 shields mkII, fusion power and roboports though before I do too much production. Dont want to bump up the evolution too much and have to fight behemoths without those. After...

Re: My first original idea
This is actually just a prof of concept for my mega factory I want to build. I have watched quite a bit of youtube videos and I have noticed that green circuits run out of belt bandwidth quite quickly even with blue belts so I wanted to build a more expandable setup. As you can see the green circuit...

Re: Train/Ore balancing
so is it 70 smelters/ blue belt? (40 items/s *3.5 s/item / 2 crafting speed) personally I would do 1 wagon per belt. Then you can unload from one side and only need 4 or 8 stack inserters (depending if you want to buffer or not). 3-4 wagon trains seem pretty nice to work with. lthough that is assumi...

Re: Train/Ore balancing
You should probably define a "large" number of smelters. To some people 48 is large and to others 480 is large. I am pretty sure 1 wagon with 24 stack inserters and buffer chests unloading can support 4 blue belts. You would need a wagon every 12.5 seconds and you would only have 5-6 secon...
