Re: How to collect Solid fuel or Coal quickly from furnaces or any machines that uses them ?

As far as I know there is no faster way to do that, but the thing is... why should you do that often? Factorio is a game about automation. Just let it burn. :)

Re: Factorio age rating?

A big reason why Superhot got USK 16 is probably because it's first person and you shoot at "human formed" things. Both is not the case for Factorio.

Two more months gone by and no new chemical plant. Is it still in development? (I'm not really impatient, but quite interested in the reason why it is delayed. :D )

Re: Version 0.17.60

At least it makes my megabase builds easier since Advanced Processing is nearly useless now so I just need a tiny build for it and then can spam production of Basic Processing for all my petro needs and less fluid boxes. Having the basic tech be superior to higher tech for late game big bases names...

I can't say if your netcode is better than WoW's, but at least your bugfixing is so much better. I know that... *blinks against speck of dust*

What's stopping you about making a proper bug report about this? Sounds like something is wrong, so a normal bugreport will surely get you more help than posting randomly on the newest version.

Hm, improved fluid simulation... do you release that so you can fix bugs with it to have a better / more "fluid" release of the new fluid mechanics? :D

Re: Friday Facts #290 - Rail building changes & High-res icons

SVG doesn't exist on hardware level. Every SVG image is converted into a pixel image to render it. You could maybe save some download or disk space with that method, but both are even less problematic with these small icon sizes. The workload to implement an SVG renderer into the engine and converti...

Re: Friday Facts #290 - Rail building changes & High-res icons

Na, it's not so big. Let's say we have 500 icons with 64x64 pixels, each pixel 4 bytes big. Now we double the amount to compensate for the new icon sizes, resulting in 1000 * 64*64 * 4 Byte = ~16 MByte. That's pretty small, and with some optimizations (4 byte per pixel is absolutely not needed ^^) t...

Re: Version 0.17.28

i think that if 0.17.27 wasn't released publicly, there's no reason to call the updated version ".28" - just like you didn't iterate every version you created during the year between last 0.16.x and 0.17.0. it just causes mild confusion and wastes everyone's time. It depends how far 0.17....

No, there's still (at least!) 0.18 with the finished campaign, maybe even more.

What I would like to know: Did you / will you implement a test to make sure the bug with invalid usernames can't happen again? You once said that you implement a test for every bug fixed, so I'm curious if that's the case for this.

Re: Version 0.17.5

GOG will have to manually update the files on their servers - Wube can't tell you how long that will take.
