Re: uranium processing unbalanced?
Well, allowances have to be made. Fuel rods tend to last longer then 200 seconds in realworld reactors, and can be moderated with carbon rods to control the rate of reaction (and thereby fuel consumption). I think the nuclear mechanic in Factorio is fine as is :) Agreed. There is also a topic about...

Re: uranium processing unbalanced?
The real world equivalent of Kovarex is simply uranium enrichment - you separate out pure 235 from what would appear to be bulk 238. One method is actually via centrifuge (go figure). Negative :) There is nothing like kovarex in the real world. Its impossible to get U235 from U238 by any known proc...

And what you say on some ideas in here?

Be careful with "the simplest" statement anyway . However, you can use "simple" as much as you can

Re: [0.15.x] Fluid mechanics
I am always gratefully suprised of "quasi--physics" in factorio when i study any of its properties more closely. I wonder if its just coincidence or geniallity of the develompment team (maybe combination of both). My meaning of "quasi" is fact that a fundamental laws in here are ...

Re: Circular Kovarex Enrichment Setup
There is a flaw in your design: occasionally an inserter will be busy scooping U-238 which may cause it to miss some U-235. Ultimately it's probably not a huge problem once the thing is properly buffered but my setup above adds inserters filtered to handle U-238 so that the stack inserters can focu...

Re: Nuclear Emergency Backup Power/No Fuel Cell Waste
Hi, you are generraly right :). The most "pro" system i ever seen has very similiar system of yours. The autor just make it more smooth and set the pump condition differntly (in range 70-80%, one or two to 70, one to 71 one to 72 etc). This trick simply reduce annoying oscilations in energ...

Solar panel or efficiency module?
Hello everyone. Solar panels are quite good in the middle phase of the game. It brings you free electricity with no material consumption nor pulution generation. It could help you in question of defence, bitters are less agresive and you will have a plenty of time to do something more important than...

Hi. Do you have some suggestion (or proof) of your statement of 100% space efficiency? I just wonder why you think that your electricity distribution is the most space efficient

Re: Simple 4-reactor with simple control
Only one inserter that grabs an empty fuel cell on low steam has that threshold setting. the pulse it generates is used by all fuelcell loading inserters. So you'd need to tweak only a single inserter. I use steam control at each output inserter and connect all between them. There should be no diff...

Re: Simple 4-reactor with simple control
I am definetely not a fan of "no-combinator" solutions :D. I dont use any here just... becouse. I simply dont see any benefit in here. I prefer this control system for a reason that its just independent on game constants like period of fuel burning etc. Well this is maybe just question of ...

Re: Simple 4-reactor with simple control
"Compensation pipes" of steam (as i called them) which i used are very useful and well tested anyway :). It should help to keep all tanks on similar state. What dou you mean? This: Instead of direct connection to the heat exchanger you let them input into a pipe? Can your system live off ...

Re: Simple 4-reactor with simple control
Why did you surround the reactors with heatpipes? They are expensive. Also you wouldnt have to use long inserters. Its just only for better temperature spread to avoid reactors overheating. But its true that it probably will work very well without that pipes. I have to say that i dont have enought ...

Re: Circular Kovarex Enrichment Setup
Anyway, i think that "reducing" U235 in centrifuge is not very good goal. Even with this setups, i prefer to have 80 pieces of U235 in. So the process is smooth and dont wait for recharging.

Re: Oil Power Plants, reliable way of making electricity.
Two light oil to solid fuel plants isn't enough to keep up with a full speed refinery: they only consume 4.1666 light oil per second, but the refinery can produce 4.5/s (plus the additional light oil from cracking heavy). One petroleum to fuel plant also isn't enough. One heavy to light cracking pe...

Re: Oil Power Plants, reliable way of making electricity.
All values are valid for 1 pumpjack on 0.1 oilpatch with 2 speed module (+100% speed) production: 11.15 solid fuel / minute average energy consumption: 526 kW = 31.56 MJ / minute so if we compensate 12.5 MJ by 1 piece of solid fuel, we have Energy production = (11.15 Γ 12.5 - 31.56)/60 = 1.797 MW pe...
