Re: Another Filter inserter based factory build

Thanks for the good feedback. What do you mean with pulse generator? Use response signal maybe Activate inserter with customizable delay. I like your approach to control the whole belt with memory cell. The priority didn't bother me much, but I was thinking to make more control with counting items o...

Re: 25:21 Solar with Roboport (200:168)

About accumulators. If you produce more energy than you consume, then accumulators can save up more energy every day. You can actually calculate how much energy do you need to sustain exact rate of turret usage. About effective area. Ok, let's make a compromise. Since I was mistaken and I wasn't fu...

Re: 25:21 Solar with Roboport (200:168)

No, it's completely filled. There is no gap at all. I agree about the accumulators, that you need more than perfect ratio for the backup, and about the gaps inbetween as well. I was thinking of making 175:147 build. Also i like to keep backup accumulators separately. edit: Your build is very compact...

Re: 25:21 Solar with Roboport (200:168)

Your area: 2550 Useful area: 2482 Effective area: 96.94% Tileable from 3 sides: Confirmed Ok, there are 2 tiles uncovered when you tile, but 100% of buildings are covered by roboport and there are no spaces inbetween. How can you get 96.94% of effective area from 1 roboport and 200:168 panels, when...

Have you seen this: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5594 ? It is the same, but better. Next time you could try search the forum first ;-) Usefull area : 2224 (96.5%) Solar panels: 180 Accumulators: 151 Substations: 16 Ratio = 151 / 180 = 0.83(8) Mine has 200:168 which is perfect...

Another Filter inserter based factory build

Pros: - Simple and compact. Only 7 combinators in total. - Can set the item ratios. Cons: - Would stop when item is missing. Solution is to replace item set CC combinator to DC filter with threshold for each item and connect inputs to chest. I.e.: If Iron > (inserter count * inserter stack = 18) Th...

25:21 Solar with Roboport (200:168)

The only limitation is that 1 side is off the boundaries of roboport. So you can connect ports in 1 line or rotate to get connected square. You can see the offset on the picture from the right side. Anyway it's tileable from 3 sides with roboport connection and from every side with poles. https://s3...

Re: Maximum power per coastal tile

The point is more if water is a limited resource but solar power isn't an option (probably because there's no water to easily create safe zones so everywhere is infested with biters), yes that design is a lot more compact but requires more shoreline which you may not have. Well with 0.15 the point ...

You just need to change input belt and splitters to red. It's ment to be used for 857 output, and it works like a clock. Maximum output is 900 i guess.

Cheap tileable 25:21 Solar panels:Accumulators

Perfect ratio. Small tiles, no need for recalculations. Cons is no space for the Roboport. Although the tiles are so small, that you can build it gradually by chunks. https://s23.postimg.org/l9jklz32z/tilable_solar_panel1.jpg https://s24.postimg.org/vi65x87n9/tileable_solar_panels.jpg H4sIAAAAAAAA/5...

Science non-linear approach 2v ( 85.6 per min, ratio 1:1:1)

The goals of this build: - Use only 1 input belt per resource type - Keep 1:1:1 science pack ratio with inconsistent resource input Requirements: - +1 inserter stack (otherwise you wanna upgrade inserters as well as add to iron wheel and inserter production), - Speed modules 3 (Inserter production a...

Re: Request: 12 Lane Balancer

You are right, but it's more like vertical version. Also you can compress it a bit more, there are some gaps that you can cut. 34 vs 36 splitter isn't that much for that big balancer. But i would go with separated balanced lanes 4x3. That would eliminate all the maccarone.

10 Red Circuit factory (92 per minute)

The goal was to achieve 85.7 circuits per minute without using speed modules, for the 1 blue belt Science factory. https://s24.postimg.org/wfzk2ozgl/10_rc_1v2.jpg After counting numbers from the inserters, I've came up with these proportions: Iron: 3 lanes, 0.4 : 0.4 : 0.2 Copper: 4 lanes, 0.25 : 0....

I suggest to divide by sections by 4. i.e. 3x4 lanes.
Here is the difference between 4 lane and 8 lane balancer. You can imagine how quickly it's getting messy.

You might wanna try to use "U" shape turned belts to fill up the gaps.
