Re: [0.17] Even Distribution
Good day! 2021-08-18, latest factorio update seems to have broken ED v 1.0.8. all mods up to date, game is 1.1.38 (build 58907, win64). Error message is Error while running event even-distribution::on_player_fast_transferred (ID 129) LuaEntity doesn't contain key x. stack traceback: [C]: in function...

Starting new Tutorial should disable mods
Problem:
The base game tutorial is not intended to be run with mods.
If I enable bobs+angels and run the tutorial, ore patches are not in their expected locations and instructions say "mine here!" with a big arrow pointing to nothing.
Solution:
Force tutorial to essential-only mods.

Re: Griefing: a modest proposal
Aside from that... I actually perversely enjoy "hunt the troll", it's like a fancy version of Among Us. Could that be a game mode? No Mementos, no "last touched by", no map... just paranoia.

Griefing: a modest proposal
In multiplayer the problem is trolls. Turning something or tweaking an assembler shows "last touched by". Deleting an item leaves no trace. Therefore the #1 method of trolling is to remove something. This has a side effect that many servers won't let new players remove items until they hav...

Easier loading for long term huge maps
Hello and thank you for this great game. I'm currently into a long Space Exploration session over many weeks with friends 10 time zones away. Every time they connect now is a very long download and sync. This seems a little odd because they have saves and autosaves. My suggestion is that reconnectin...

activate relevant dependencies
Dear devs, Great game! 1000+ hours spent. I'm trying to start a SeaBlock run. I activate the Seablock Pack mod. it lists many dependencies. problem 1: the dependency names do not exactly match the names listed in the mod list on the left. problem 2: to activate a dependency i have to leave this list...

Re: Artillery can be built before tank is researched
I'm sorry but I don't have a save file & log file from the time between artillery built and tank researched. I only reported the but on reddit after, and was told to repeat it here.

Artillery can be built before tank is researched
it is possible to build an artillery gun for which ammunition has never existed, and the knowledge of ammunition has never existed. um...what? I researched and built only items required to build the rocket. having achieved that, I thought I'd add artillery and check it out. once completed I had an a...

Re: Version 0.13.0
I built a two-headed train on a brand new track. The 10-rail placement system fought me several times, I couldn't seem to cancel it without changing the active item in my inventory. The double-headed train seemed to confuse the rail signal system - it would only let me place signals on one side of t...

How's this? https://instagram.com/p/7tjjpAofC_/
I don't have a soft suction cup to grab a flat sheet (yet), but I do have a suction nozzle and air pump.
Opening a beer is on the way still. Rotating the wrist around an arbitrary point in space is hard to explain to a machine.

Re: I'm building an inserter in real life
https://instagram.com/p/7JZ-vAofH0/ I'm a lot closer now. The beer is still on the way. I have the new recipe: the brain is actually one blue PCB, one purple PCB, three white, and two green. Soon I should have all the electronics off the table, safely stored on the back of the arm. A friend is curre...

I'm building an inserter in real life
https://instagram.com/p/6yzLU6IfNx I've got computer controlled movement on 5 axies now, and enough lifting power to pull the robot off the table. Maybe it could drag itself from place to place? I want to say thank you to Factorio for the experience. I recently designed my first PCB and for every wi...

Re: Copy from factory to requester chest
Dave - I think the idea is to set up quicker. copy all the settings, then remove the few you don't need. still less back and forth than the current method.

Re: Copy from factory to requester chest
Someone on reddit suggested this should also work for green inserters.
I notice right now if I copy from a grey factory to a blue or vice versa it screws up the instruction, even if the instruction should be valid.
