Re: Friday Facts #314 - 0.17 stable
With level scaling, monsters conveniently scale to your level in the zone where you are, so you can quest at any place without having to avoid too high or low levels areas relative to your level.. But I consider this to be actually plague of any game where it appears. thank you. i couldn't have sai...

Re: [posila] [0.17.1] Flamethrower turret aiming incorrectly
side question: my landmines are all dying in fire now. is this new/intended, i don't remember this from 0.16? i noticed that my robots are replacing them, but they get destroyed immediately, sending the robot in a loop. that definitely wasn't the case two days ago.....

you really got me with the "stop car to handle factorio notification". my head was like... "are you f**** serious?!"
probably the best aprils fools i have ever read, because of how subtle it was communicated. +1 to you.

all these things are great, and we appreciate them, but honestly, a better mining drill is one of the easiest to code things ever. You could even be lazy and take a modders pre codded one, and just change it a little. still love everything else, but it seems like we need less shiny things, more fun...

very nice FFF. good that you notice the endgame issues and turn your attention to them :) my comment on the long term mining drills: don't! it just adds more micro-managing to something you have already done a thousand times. instead of those i would opt for a "large ass mining drill". a s...

Re: Friday Facts #128 - Back down to earth
i agree with the guy who posted that the "inserter minigame" is overrated. factorio becomes tedious after a while, once you have done your personal "perfect" factory several times, it's not that challenging anymore and you're craving for something else. mind you, factorio is grea...

3) I also really want to see a push button entity (generates a 1 tick signal) This opens up a huge world of possibilities. Imagine building tetris or snake in game, you need up/down/left/right buttons. don't take this personal please, i just find this comment to be the best example of why i think t...

Re: Friday Facts #123 - Better circuit network (Part 2)
The problem that I see is these huge 1x1 blocks just make no sense at all. You have all these cool machines, but for simple tasks of comparing values and whatnot, you need computers 1000% the size of what we use today. Sensors aren't that big, and mobile phones are capable of everything necessary f...

too fast "early stage", balancing for midgame
hy, tldr; early stage is passing too fast and needs more love. trains and basic train networks should be useable much earlier, especially and clearly before robotics the long post: i want to give personal opinion / feedback regarding the early and mid stage of a typical factorio game. early stage: 9...

eve online.
resource gathering and industrial processing at its finest. no automation like factorio though.
(be warned, i lost three years and a relationship in this game. made my decision to never play a game without a pause button again)

are you guys serious? sp1 for win7 was released in 2010. there is no excuse for beeing on the internet and not patching your OS, let alone install the available service packs.

+1 for the night vision replacement suggestion by explorer bot. altough it would be much cooler if explorer bots actually would help you "explore", e.g. find not yet discovered resource patches, or show direction there, etc, or help you clear the forest to make a trail.

to answer the question, yes that is normal. easier settings than this quickly get boring, so i'd call it a baseline for current game mechanics

Re: Laser Turrets and their Speed Upgrades
why cant you make real lasers then, i mean, laser beams starting at the turrent, ending at the target, and not some weird "bolts" of light moving around?
it would look way cooler that way anyway.

Re: [MOD 0.10.2] Resource Spawner Overhaul - v1.0.2
hello,
when i try to start a multiplayer game (0.10.11), factorio crashes. statusbar on screen shows "loading new map" at this moment. using rso 1.0.6.
no other clients are involved at this moment, its just me, trying to start the game.
any idea why this happens?
