Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)
You could add a slider in the game settings to set bot capacity - % of regular stack the bot can carry. That way everyone can debuff them as they see fit, with default setting closer to minimum. I think that bots should not be able to carry more than 4-5 of any item at the same time. Belts should be...

I think there is a mod for that. I used one a while ago.

Re: Cliffs :(
There could be an achievement for completing the game without blowing up any cliffs...
I can see why some people building megabases hate them. If there was a way for bots to blow them up...

Re: Better visibility for ore patches an the map.
I suggest a map overlay that highlights all patches, just like hovering the mouse over them, but all at once. Maybe only for the radar covered Area. That wouldn't make exploring too easy, but take the annoyence from finding patches on allready explored and controlled ground. +1 It's really hard to ...

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts
I'm sure this was mentioned before - the same way you have barreling, why don't you have packaging? Put a stack of items into a "box" and then send boxes on a belt? In case of metal plates, that would increase the belt throughput 100 times.

I love the cliffs. They add variety - similar to water, but in a different way.

Thanks! I really appreciate the help.darkfrei wrote:Try this mod, I can't submit it.
However, as I mentioned earlier, I thought this is more of a balancing issue, as it's very unusual for any in-game cycle time to be less than 0.5 seconds.

Re: Barreling - take 5 barrels at a time
Yes, that, but only for the barreling. I put this here only due to recent changes in barreling, which might need some extra balancing.

Barreling - take 5 barrels at a time
It seems that the barreling action per barrel is extremely short - only 0.2 seconds. Wasn't current shortest cycle 0.5 seconds?
Wouldn't it make more sense for an assembly machine to take 5 empty barrels and 250 fluid units to make 5 full barrels in 1 second?

Re: 0.16 Map generation Feedback
After playing for roughly 16 hours on .16 map I must say, that I really like how resources and trees are generated. It's so much easier to keep everything spaced out - there is more than enough free, empty areas in the starting zone. No need to spend ton of time to clear the ground for a massive ore...

Re: Friday Facts #222 - Christmas avalanche
I don't understand. Fluid wagon's mass is 2 times higher than normal wagon, and it already transports less fluid than wagon with barrells. Why reduce it's capactiy? It is 3x heavier than the cargo wagon, so we would definitely reduce the weight to compensate for reduced capacity This makes perfect ...

Re: Version 0.16.7
I agree with the decision to remove the optional split in the fluid wagon. I do think however, that keeping 3 permanently separate tanks would be a better way to go than having only one tank. As others mentioned - it's very and intuitive, what you need to do to fill all three tanks, while it's much ...

Re: Version 0.16.7
Wasn't the 3-wagon split causing issues with fluids not being pumped out if you were using only one pump.

Re: 0.16 Map generation Feedback
I like how the terrain looks now. It really feels like going through different areas on a planet.
Everything looks to be sparser than before - which is a good thing IMHO.
Just started the game, so I don't have a solid opinion if the resources are enough. But so far, so good.

Re: Friday Facts #219 - Cliffs
See... I look at the cliffs, I like them, but the issue I have is how it affects the grid. The way it is implemented, I'd think it doesn't affect the grid, however, having actual slopes and ramps would make the cliffs feel better... but also hamper the construction area, can't build on non-flat thi...
