Re: Friday Facts #307 - 0.17 stable candidate

As such, I consider the topic closed for now, but that does not mean I am hoping people would forget. Calm down, maybe, in some cases, but I will definitely be observing and inspecting what exact effects will the changes have in the future, in case something got overlooked. It’s possible we will tw...

Re: Powdered aluminum, copper, iron, chrome, and steel have no uses?

Angel's development slowed considerably for over a year, so plans may have been created long ago but unfortunately didn't come to fruition. Once the mantle is passed down it's possible that plan will be passed along, but even if not I'm sure they'll create something to utilise them. It's a simple fl...

Maybe some small surprises along the way.
spidertron confirmed.
It said small surprise, not revolutionary event that changes the paradigm of war against nature.

Hopefully someday.

Re: [MOD 0.17.60+] Deadlock's Astonishingly Basic Oil Refinery (Special 1760 Edition)

This mod looks like it had a lot of careful thought put into it to ensure the user isn't too overwhelmed by the few options it makes available to us. So few mods seem to put in that extra effort and tend to cause more problems for users than they solve. I am curious to learn where the excess oil dis...

Re: [0.17] Please post bugs and balance issues here.

I think the issue is that the rollback to a previous version reset his settings It's certainly a puzzling thing. I've reverted versions several times in the past, yet most of the configuration hasn't changed since I set them when mod settings were implemented. I fear the day it does occur as there'...

Re: Friday Facts #306 - Experimental Demo

In the old campaign, "A New Hope" level 2 the player discovers a large base that has been decimated by biters. I remember that this was the level that my imagination really kicked into high gear. I think that without that glimpse into the future I might not have had the curiosity to conti...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

Second, if I understood correctly the current changes, the current BOP does exactly what you claim not to happen in Factorio - namely that things disappear. The current recipe takes 100 oil but produces less than 100 PG, right? I mean, that's like saying that 20 electronic circuits should result in...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

unfortunately certain systems were also dumbed down there too. (Though not as badly as here, since their systems are still very much in tact.) Yeah, they dumbed down the disease system. Slimelung was maybe a bit too deadly given that you are surrounded by slime on Terra, but now it doesn't really m...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

I have also uninstalled the game after more than 2500 hours and playing almost every day. The shot has been that my 11-year-old daughter has literally told me: "Now that is super easy," and now prefers to play the "Oxygen not included." A pity that has stopped listening to the p...

Re: Getting item stuck in cursor

Would it make sense to add such an item into a virtual inventory slot the player can't interact with, so that the player's not blocked with an item in the cursor, and the virtual slot fills the first real inventory slot that frees itself ? No. The entire topic needs to just stop existing and people...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

Even in a free play game you could start with one or two processing units (or special robot brains you never will be able to build yourself) in your inventar. The only pre-blue-science recipe using them could be a compilatron-type robot, in this scenario it should definitely be a burner-fueled vari...

Re: Friday Facts #303 - Under 100 bugs (but still not stable)

Funny how if you pirate a game, they call it theft and "you wouldn't steal a car", but if you're trying to sell it like a car, it's suddently not an ownable product anymore because "something something license agreement". I have a feeling that one of those things is a lie, I'm j...

Right, that's why when I cook dinner today, I still cook it exactly the same simplistic and trivial way that I tried to cook it the first time I ever cooked dinner, mostly because I don't have any other more complex dinners available to me any more, because someone put them all in the bin with mini...

But as always, as much as I love the fact there are mods, I wish the vanilla experience not to need mods to be optimal. The devs have made their game better, and if you're not ok with that, you can mod it to your hearts content. While I'm not interested in debating the subject further, could you be...

Re: [MOD 0.16] Realistic Reactors

I would ask you to re-read my posts again. Just according to the scheme that I drew, ONE working reactor will try to distribute heat ON ALL heat pipes (and heat exchangers, respectively), and thus heat the heat exchangers that must be fed from other reactors. Type - one reactor for 14 heat exchange...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

I have to agree with posila on that one. Electric furnaces have many benefits which entice you to switch which does in fact require you to redo your entire smelting line. But... It's not essential unless you're going for a high science pack count or megafactory. Steel furnaces actually go a long way...

:P not bad but still not 100% reliant Sure it is. Just keep the inputs from starving and it won't go wrong. And then you realize than an inserter can not only insert things into a container, but also extract things from containers, and the universe collapses into a singularity. https://i.giphy.com/...

... some years ago Kovarex changed the stack sizes: some stacks where 2^n based (64, 128...) some 10^n, like now. Nobody will discuss it anymore. Most might even know about it. Was the community for Factorio even in the six digits then? I'd imagine that was before oil was even added and the overall...

Re: Tailings ponds can overflow?

Overflowing tailing ponds is probably the feature I liked most. Keep them managed and you won't heavily pollute the land, just like the real deal. It's neat and all, but kind-of bogus without a warning. Every other storage system in every mod I've ever played just stops flow when it fills. It's not...
