Re: [MOD 0.17] Industrial Revolution
I try to find this: Why cant I plant the sapling and help to grow a forest? There are a way to do? They need to go into a greenhouse, and you need like 20 or so to start the first grow cycle. Just 10. I dont want more wood. I want help with pollution. And maybe avoid bitter walk easy to my base... ...

Does the pipe trap you permanently, such that the game is unrecoverable?
If not, then they're going to say it's not a bug.

Re: [MOD 0.17] Industrial Revolution
Hi, Deadlock, I would just like to say that this mod is amazing. The plethora of items is bewildering at first glance, but everything makes sense in terms of what it's used in, and the complexity ramps up gradually at a perfect rate. On default settings I do find it difficult to keep up, technology-...

Money for mods?
I've found some Factorio mods have improved the game to such a degree (not that the vanilla game isn't already extraordinary, mind you) that I feel a bit guilty at receiving them for free. In particular, it's clear that some modders have spent hundreds of hours or more, and it shows in the creativit...

Re: [0.15.23] inserter waits too long
Speaking as a programmer, I know some of us find the word bug too whimsical and use the word defect instead, as it has a more uncompromising sound to it. So is this a defect in the game? No, it isn't. The developers intended for things to go at certain speeds. If something in your factory isn't kee...

Re: [MOD 0.17] Industrial Revolution
I have a range question:
I have scattergun turrets that have a range of 15.
The game has medium spitters that have a range of 14.
Why are the medium spitters able to stand just outside the range of my scattergun turrets and bombard them?

Re: [MOD 0.17] Industrial Revolution
Hey, I've started playing with Industrial Revolution 1.0.2 and just got to the iron age, but I've noticed that there's no iron ore in my starting area. Is this expected? The closest iron ore to my start location is a long way away. Given that iron is required to build trains & rails, I'm not re...

So now that you're signing macOS binaries, what about signing Windows binaries too, so that we get "Software from Wube" instead of "Software from a scary unknown source" when we install?

Can't wait! This was my favorite part of the original campaign....we plan to utilize the remnants to a large degree in the campaign for 1.0 for half-destroyed factories to be found and explored.

Re: Friday Facts #309 - Controversial opinions
I like the adventure mode idea. My favorite scenario in the old introductory campaign was the one where you arrive with your car at the wrecked base and have to figure out how it worked and try to get it running again by replacing inserters, belts, tracks, smelters, etc.

Now when planning a rail path, holding CTRL will make it use the obstacle avoidance ghost planning. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU Th...

Re: Friday Facts #290 - Rail building changes & High-res icons
When the change was made to rail planner modes, I tried not to care. The game is still in development; things will change; I'll get used to it. 99% of the changes made to the game, even when they take some getting used to, deepen and improve the gameplay. But this rail planner mode change is the oth...

Re: Excavation:. Opposite of landfill.
What settings will produce "large continuous bodies of water"? Every time I played with water settings (in 0.16) I got a ton of scattered little water bodies instead of large lakes/seas, even with the lowest frequency setting. In the end I gave up on water. I now play with minimal water s...

Re: Can someone please tell me how to properly signal this
[profanity], why didn't anyone say that you have to signal every [vulgarity] intersection the track runs over no matter how far away or how feasible it is for a train to turn at it ? That would have saved me so much heartache and frustration. Probably because it isn't true? The basic rule of thumb ...

Re: Logistically discarding items that are also requested should decrease the requested quantity
To me what would make the most sense is having an option to have autotrash slots track request slots. So if I have 36 things requested, with this option, those same 36 would show up in autotrash in the exact same quantities. Then I wouldn't have to adjust both all the time.

Re: Did no one else notice massive nerf of tank in 0.17?
Er...am I the only one who wears Power Armor Mk II packed full of lasers while driving the tank, so I get lasers plus the tank's machine gun?
I don't have to waste any Power Armor slots on shields; I just have one 2x2 roboport so the robots can fix my tank.

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics
Weapons and armor behave much the same as pickaxes, you craft them once and keep them equipped forever. Maybe you should get rid of equipment entirely, simply upgrade the base armor and unlock new weapons without the need to equip them (what's the point of limiting it to three anyway?). While you'r...

Related: you can mouse over the request and it will tell you how many are on the way, how many you have, and how many the network has. True. To get an overall picture of your logistics supply, all you have to do is mouseover, wait, read, mouseover, wait, read...36 times! :( But seriously, though, i...
