lol, that gravedig yo.

That was from 2014. Destroyers now run on DPS not burst. We have behemoth biters and a few other tweaks have happened. Destroyers are hardly as OP as they once were.

Re: Balancing railway tracks? or fast track & slow track?

AFAIK not yet. Are you sure? Basically, with a four lane track (two inbound, two outbound), so long as you have a cross over between the two lanes, trains will pick the "faster" lane. I believe the A* pathfinding accounts for trains in the way. I've asked Hanziq (resident train guy), hope...

Re: When and how often to use modules?

Well, I'm using modules extensively in my youtube series. Basically, the advice I have is all the modules, all the beacons, all the things. Can't go wrong. Productivity everywhere you can. Speed everywhere else. The downside is you need a decent power plant.

Re: Friday Facts #111 - Long term plans

I didn't mean to "guilt trip" I meant to motivate. Its something teachers and parents have been doing for eons. "Son, I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed. You have so much potential, you could be so much more". Sound familiar? Its called a guilt trip and it works great when peo...

Re: Friday Facts #111 - Long term plans

words For everyone who seems to think the world is now ending, just take a step back and think about some perspective. There's all this talk of "of its ruined", "its pointless to play now". But to get to the rocket, the average person is going to spend anywhere from 30 to 50 hou...

Re: Friday Facts #111 - Long term plans

I am over the moon (excuse the pun) that the space platform has been dropped! I believe that the space platform was going to add nothing to the game itself. The game as it sits right now should be taken as functionally complete. Sure, it needs some polish, but really the satellite launch should be t...

I was going to link in the bug report, but you've already seen it! So this is for everyone else:

Shotgun is bugged.

Also, this update is seeming to break a few mods. Coloured Stuff mod by d3phoenix has gone down.

Re: The bentham/arumba train unloader

Some clarifications: I'm playing bob's mods and RSO (with a high level of dispersion of resources). Once rolling, I expect to have 14 or so different resources coming in via train. But BM doesn't really need a huge quantity of any of them. What I don't know is how you ended up with a train full of ...

Re: Friday Facts #102 - Getting close

Unlike load break switches and circuit breakers, disconnectors lack a mechanism for suppression of electric arc, which occurs when conductors carrying high currents are electrically interrupted. Thus, they are off-load devices, intended to be opened only after current has been interrupted by some o...

Re: [YouTube] Negative Root's Factorio Tutorials

Some of the tutorials are outdated with 0.12. For example train setup without chain signals ("Never cross lines" makes no sense anymore). Do you plan to update them? Yep. The playlist is being updated regularly, even if I don't visit here terribly often :) One of those was barely useful a...
