Re: Friday Facts #185 - Progress report
Oh man, so much good stuff! Those pipe graphics in the picture look fantastic, so I can't wait for the other high res stuff too! The night vision is a massive improvement over the last proposed idea, so great job with that guys. :D I am actually quite likely to use the night vision with it looking l...

Re: Friday Facts #184 - Five years of Factorio
Wow this really does show how far the game has come. I must admit, I'm kind of fond of how that first version looks. :P Those server permissions will be awesome and allow for so much more flexibility with how can do what. :D The rail improvements are quite nice too. It definitely is verging on unpla...

Re: Friday Facts #182 - Optimizations, always more optimizations
Single sided, double sided, a big train, a small one, loop-based or no loops makes no difference in the games performance. They're all the same. I have no idea where people get these ideas from but they're all false. Here for example: https://youtu.be/E7st8UawPBI?t=8m32s Should I tell Xterminator t...

Re: Friday Facts #182 - Optimizations, always more optimizations
good times say, a thought I've been having since it was accounced that 0.15 will introduce 'eternal research' There is currently an achievement for having researched everything. Will that achievement also be changed? Or will it become impossible to get? Will it be discontinued so you can't get it a...

Re: Friday Facts #180 - Map interaction
When mousing over a train on the map: * Show the path to its next destination. * Highlight all of the train stops that train services. This! Would be so helpful when you get big train networks, without having to open the main Train GUI and find the train etc. Just seeing the path and trains/train s...

Re: Friday Facts #179 - New resource graphics & concrete
Never really expected the ores to be overhauled graphically anytime soon, but man am I glad you have done it. The new graphics are stunning! Will go very nicely with the other HD graphics.
Fantastic as always guys. The hype for 0.15 keeps building with each new Friday Facts!

Re: Friday Facts #177 - Difficulty settings
Welp... Although not surprised, I am very sad about the even further delay of 0.15, but oh well it happens. :P As for the difficulty settings, they look awesome! :D This will allow so many different types of styles of gameplay now without even having to touch mods, or even n conjunction with them. S...

Re: [YouTube] Xterminator's Tutorials & Guides For Beginners
Hey guys, it's been a very long time since I updated this thread, and I do apologize for that. However, I have just added in all the new or updated tutorials I have done, and definitely suggest checking them out sense they cover a lot of stuff the older ones did not. :) Hope you find them helpful, a...

Re: Friday Facts #168 - Nightvision Nightmare
The character can see 360 degrees and through walls and thick forest, and has technology centuries ahead of ours. "realistic" (based on our current primitive technology) night vision shouldn't even be a consideration, just what is best for the game. This. I mean trying to make them "...

Re: Friday Facts #168 - Nightvision Nightmare
Although it isn't technically night vision, I really like MiloRK's version. I would much prefer that instead of night vision. His version is actually really cool looking and I would be excited to use something like that! Especially like the highlighted biters, makes them much easier to see and just ...

Re: Friday Facts #168 - Nightvision Nightmare
The night vision... I appreciate the idea of trying to make if realistic by adding some green, and honestly picture 2 is tolerable I think. The 3rd picture actually looks the worse to me by far. I personally never use the goggles because of the green, plus I put a ton of lights down anyway so never ...

Re: Oil Refineries
I think many new players run into this problem, and I did as well when I first started. While the Logistics of using those 3 products can be confusing or even annoying, there is a fairly easy solution. :) The best solution is to use the extra products (in this case, light and heavy oil) to make othe...

Re: Friday Facts #166 - Combat Revisit
Honestly, I really wish there was more combat automation. I want giant armies of robots crashing against swarms of Biters. I want a war machine. Going out and doing it myself seems counter to the whole point of the game. My two cents. I couldn't agree more! I think it would be amazing to be able to...

Re: Friday Facts #166 - Combat Revisit
I was wondering if/when anything combat related was going to be looked at. :P First off, I think the Steam awards thing is great and I already voted for Factorio in the 5 more minutes section. It definitely deserves it! As for the combat tweaks. While I completely agree that some of the weapons need...

Wow, major props to you and everyone else for those performance improvements! That is a massive improvement going from 30 to 55 or 60. I think when 0.15 hits, a new era of mega bases will begin. I am so damn excited for this stuff! :D The train looks magnificent as well. Albert always does good work...

Re: Friday Facts #164 - Nuclear power
Glad to have a general release date for 0.15 albeit it longer than I thought. :P Gonna be totally worth it though! I like most the proposed changes and additions in regards to steam power, boilers, and the nuclear reactor. I like the potential for it to explode if you aren't careful, but I am a bit ...

Re: Friday Facts #163 - New rails & New problems
Really great read! :) It's amazing you managed to automate the process for multiple steps of this to make it easier. The new rails look fantastic, and will give me even more reason to use trains (as if I needed one). Also good to hear that 0.14 is stable at this point. Very much look forward to futu...

Re: Friday Facts #162 - Theme Art Again
Well... I have never really been against any change made to the game up until now. I am however very against the idea of removing the artifacts. I see part of the reasoning behind it, but I think it's a big missed opportunity. Granted, with them being removed from the science pack recipes, there wou...

Re: ModMyFactory - mod manager and more
This is a fantastic program you have put together! I will definitely be using it because, like Arumba and I'm sure many others, I use multiple different versions of Factorio and mod packs/versions. It can get tedious to change them all around manually each time, so your program will be a godsend. :)...

Re: Friday Facts #161 - Infinite Research and Blueprint Library
Interesting as always! The infinite research seems interesting and would certainly add some more ways to use your resources, however, I feel that at some point people would just not have a need or interest in continuing the research, especially depending how small the returns end up being. Certainly...
