Re: [0.15.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion

Maybe a distillation building would be a good idea for the pure water? That way people could choose between using ground water and using normal water with distillation (maybe with salt as a byproduct) if there's not much easily-accessible ground water.

Re: Development and Discussion

@nagapito well smelting gives you some tool to spread the load of the most used metals to different ores through the alloying step at the end, where you can mix different ingots to produce an alloy of the main metal. So it's a bit about clever mixing and spreading the load over different ores. Craz...

Re: [MOD 0.15] Osmosis Grouping

Well, file editing sounds like it could be a pain. Nevertheless I think the idea of this mod is great; I've often found myself wanting some more sensible inventory organization with modded games (Angel's mods are fine for it at least as far as I am concerned, but Bob's mods less so). I'm also gettin...

Re: Development and Discussion

Well, imagine you have a base that requires steam, A LOT of steam due to tweaked recipes, size, refuse to use oil, whatever. Ant the steam is needed in multiple different places. If you have a compact base, barrelling and using bots to move it its way better. Even if you dont have a compact base......

Re: Development and Discussion

That's the initial chemical base, I plan on increasing it as soon as I get more resources (a.k.a bots) I'm not quite sure what's going on in that image. Are you saying that that base is for producing all chemicals? It seems a bit compact for that purpose. Even so, if you're producing a lot of chemi...

Re: Development and Discussion

I don't see why an inability to barrel steam would be such a bad thing. I imagine in most cases it'll be simpler (and result in less usage of the train network) to produce steam on-site where it's needed. Same with a lot of items and fluids that have very few uses. It would also make more sense in t...

Re: [MOD 0.15] Osmosis Sorting

How easy is the customization? Is it doable in-game (maybe with some sort of drag-and-drop function and customizable icons for the subsets) or does it require editing files?

Re: Development and Discussion

Anyone using angels and bobs in 0.15? I'm new to using both not sure if their ready yet to play or i should wait a while. Bob's mods are playable as they are and I personally haven't found any bugs with them. I'm currently not using Angel's mods until they're in a more complete state and there are ...

eloquentJane's Modular Overhauls Development Thread

eloquentJane's Modular Overhauls Development Discussion Introduction This is the early development thread for my new series of overhaul mods. The mods will be designed to imitate realism (to a reasonable degree) and add extra complexity to various aspects of the game, without sacrificing playabilit...

Re: [0.15.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion

While it is fine for the vanilla game, Bob's mods add so many resources and intermediates that it becomes generally near to nonsense to transport stuff via belts so I would vote for enabling logistic network at blue science in Bob's mods. Ok maybe with added new logistic science pack but no way wit...

Re: Bugs & FAQ

Maybe uranium ore should be produced by combining purified ores rather than any of the previous tiers. It would give more incentive to use the full range of ore processing methods, and also limit uranium power to the late-game, which is probably where it should be really. An alternative idea might b...

Re: Solids equivalent for purification plant

If you really want to get rid of it, the Flare Stack mod adds fluid and solid voiding machines. The incinerator (normal or electric version) from that mod will void solids. Aesthetics aren't very Angel-like, but they fit in well with base Factorio. Here's the forum page for the mod: https://forums.f...

Re: Solids equivalent for purification plant

Though it's not necessarily an ideal solution, most waste solids can be converted into liquids without too much difficulty (often with a relatively cheap additive like water), which can then be voided using either the clarifier (for water-based liquids) or the flare stack (for chemicals). I imagine ...

Re: Factorio Confessional: Post your Abominations

Why is your map so pretty? I'm using a lot of mods. I'm not sure whether you're referring to the biomes or the map colors, but the biomes are from Alien Biomes and the map colors are changed by Enhanced Map Colors. Probably biomes. I like the complex coloring of the ground. It should be this way in...

I hear this is the right thread for spaghetti... http://i.imgur.com/2PRuxir.jpg Here are most of the inputs to my early-game temporary main bus. I'm using Bob's mods, as well as a few extra utility mods. The worst cases of spaghetti in this setup are the quartz and - far worse - the plastic. The pla...

Re: [0.15.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion

Please try on latest version - I updated some stuff version or two ago and was testing then so all should be spawned. If it's still not appearing then post me the save/mods on RSO forum to check. I am using the latest version. I have actually just discovered a few patches of lithia water. It seems ...

Re: [0.15.x] Bob's Mods: General Discussion

I can't seem to find patches of lithia water on the map. Ground water is generating, every ore appears to be generating (as far as I can tell, I haven't seen them all but I'm using RSO and I've seen as many as I'd expect to by this point in the game), but I can't find the lithia patches. If I rememb...
