Re: Version 0.18.17
If it is cut off, `tar tf example.tar.xz` (where "tf" means "test file", it really isn't as hard as people make it out :P ) will give a warning. Attempting extraction of a cut-off archive will exit with a non-zero exit status and print a warning as well, probably indicating eithe...

Re: Version 0.18.13
If I understood this correctly in the past, it means that HTML file has been modified by you or something else. As far as I know, the only way to fix it is to just download the whole game again instead of only the differential patch.

Re: Friday Facts #338 - The (real) Character GUI
(But for real, Spidertron is not coming in 1.0 nor before) Has this been decided officially by Wube or is this just an expectation for now? - We don't know what exactly would be the use for the spidertron. The original idea was it would be a late game vehicle, with almost unrestricted movement. Tha...

Re: Friday Facts #338 - The (real) Character GUI
Having it be delayed after 1.0 isn't optimal. But it surely does not make 1.0 "overwhelmingly disappointing". I am sure, players can wait a little longer until it is well polished. No pressure. Of course, but the point of a 1.0 version is that it is feature-complete. If it's not in 1.0, i...

Re: Friday Facts #120 - Spidertron
fun aside where is spidertron now? seriously This so much. Came back to this FFF just now and was surprised how finished it already looked. Just replace the middle square by some graphics and release it?! I don't see the problem. If "the graphics are obviously just a placeholder" is the p...

Re: Friday Facts #338 - The (real) Character GUI
First thing I thought of when seeing the character tabs: the tabs hide all the features behind extra clicks. If I just quickly want to grab ammo from my gun to put in a gun turret (when attacking in very early game), do I have to open the inventory and click to the character tab before being able to...

Added big scorch mark which is now used by atomic rocket and nuclear reactor meltdown . There can be a meltdown in vanilla? :o Reactors at max temperature (>900 C) explode like atomic bombs if destroyed. Great for nuclear mines, but there is no real meltdown mechanic implemented in Vanilla....

From what I understand it was a perfectly amicable decision, he was happy and relieved, optimistic about new projects for him to work on, and that mostly he feels bad about leaving us at the last minute, but that he decided it was the best for everyone Wow, okay, that paints an entirely different p...

Re: Friday Facts #325 - New Explosions and Particles
- shooting particles (like on roboport) should be more on the side the entity is shooted Seconded, this looks really weird to have bullets sparking off the back of an entity. Since you don't have 3d models but 2d sprites (if I'm not mistaken), it's not possible to know which areas/pixels are reacha...

Re: Headless server command-line pause
Seconded, I'd like to be able to pause when I fail at becoming an admin at my own server and someone is taking forever to catch up (then I pause to let them get in)

Re: Friday Facts #324 - Sound design, Animated trees, Optimizations
As someone continuously struggling with performance issues (I like optimizing things in megabases, not the manual work in the beginning), I am very much looking forward to these optimizations
The sounds, I dunno, they sound kinda weird to me. Not yet sure if that's just because it's new.

I would love this too!JakubW wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2019 4:25 pmHi, will there be a t-shirt with printed factorio base?
I remember some time ago you had this big banner https://cdn.factorio.com/assets/img/blo ... 9-img3.jpg
It would be great to have a t-shirt with this huge base printed on it.

And taking into account that sizes are different in between countries, could you post the length between shoulders as a refference. Hmm, doesn't it show this for you? Or is the "A" measurement not what you're looking for? https://snipboard.io/28rC03.jpg (This particular screenshot is from...

The store's privacy policy is... interesting We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service. So if I violate some clause of the terms of service, you're allowed to dox me? Is that really what this says? It's also not GDPR c...

I still have 0.17.54 for Linux in case that helps anyone, that might be compatible with the modpack for 0.17.47. (Of course, I would require some proof of ownership of the game, I'm not offering warez here.)

I guess it confirms that it is a bug and that a few meteor defense installations should usually do the trick, but for some reason not in my save.TumakWartorn wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 10:15 pmI have 5 meteor defense installations. Rarely get a meteor strike that hurts anything. If that helps.
