Re: Allow Inserters to take fuel from trains again
I love it when there is two sides to an opinion and one just happens to be the one currently implemented. The other side will ask to change it, it is changed, and then suddenly the former side is unhappy. But then the maintainers go "yeah we're not going to keep going back and forth like this, ...

I would also like this to work with filter inserters.

Re: Friday Facts #120 - Spidertron
I like the idea of being able to freely traverse the map without obstacles. However, for this, I think that a helicoper or a jetpack would be more appropriate than a Spidertron. Helicopter, Jetpack and almost anything would want fuel to hang above your factory. Especially when nowhere to land. Spid...

Re: Friday Facts #264 - Texture streaming
Trees are always an issue in large maps: it already spends a lot of time on entity updates, so very little time is available for graphics drawing. Smoke can be turned off, trees cannot. If you could find some solution for trees, I think that would solve 90% of the cases where my framerate drops belo...

Hi Factorians, This is Dominik, and my first FFF post ever! I will use this opportunity to talk to you about the exciting subject of pipes. Yeah, I know, right? I'm only 2/3rds of the way but let me just say that this is a stellar Factorio Friday Facts! As an amateur (non-game) developer, I'm entir...

[0.16.51] Segfault while playing singleplayer
Game crashed while playing single player. I was walking to unexplored regions on the map and using destroyer bots to kill natives. The only enabled mod was [Z] Adventure, but I doubt that should be allowed to cause a segv under any circumstances. $ [...]/factorio-latest/bin/x64/factorio 0.000 2018-0...

The mod still doesn't work for me. When trying it after you fixed the low-res sprites issue, I got the same error as before again: 318.941 Checksum for script __ZAdventure__/control.lua: 2910738904 436.211 Error MainLoop.cpp:1035: Exception at tick 68339989: Error while running event ZAdventure::on_...

[0.16.36-51] Upgrading deltas took longer than full download and fresh install
(Reporting for a friend, so I can't tell you all the details, but it annoyed us so I figured I'd let you know about it.) A friend of mine doesn't update regularly and in order to play together, we needed to patch it to the latest version, from 0.16.36 to 0.16.51. This took 50 minutes. Waiting to pla...

Why will the library be running a custom build of Factorio? Doesn't it run on Fedora by default, or do they have some funny hardware on which you need a special build, or what will be different in that build?

Re: Friday Facts #247 - Pricing and its exploits
I don't understand the GOG thing. They were selling your game cheap, so someone bought a bunch of keys and re-sold them at $20 or something right? I can understand the ethical issues with that, but why were the keys not working? They were legitimately purchased from GOG right? Satisfactory is not pl...

[Website] On mobile, text resizes itself until it's extremely small
I think the attachment (gif) is the best way to describe what happened. For those who can't watch, the site basically keeps resizing itself over the course of 5-10 seconds, until it's unreadably small. This started happening when I zoomed in to view one of the images, and then zoomed out to read fur...

Thanks for removing it! I typically removed mine from logs whenever i post them. If you have multiple online identities that you want to keep separate... this is something that makes it easy to link them. The vast majority of internet users won't ever post any sort of log online, so unless your user...
