Re: Got a nice idea for electric tracks (With examples)
what's exactly your point? there is no con using diesel locomotive (well except if it splats bitter on rails), this will be the same. what's your reasoning to adding such thing? also "transformer" will not produce pollution, so it will not attract bitters. unless you made it to be intenti...

Re: Got a nice idea for electric tracks (With examples)
Seems like all-pro, no cons suggestion.
Would need something to make it balanced, like perhaps requiring transformers at regular intervals that need to be hooked up to power, thus making them vulnerable to biter attacks.

Re: Rename the diesel locomotive to burner locomotive.
It could be an idea to have several types of locomotives; from a highly inefficient burner locomotive that uses something like a stirling engine, a somewhat inefficient steam locomotive, and more efficient diesel and electric locomotives.

As someone who was bad at school yet have done pretty damn well, ask yourself a simple question; are you spending most of your free, and not so free, time coding (or whatever you're interested in)?
If yes, then good, if no, then meh.

What is the definition of 'better'?So near the end game, a rocket launcher will be better than the machine gun.
If you have plenty of oil then a rocket launcher is better, if you have very little oil then anything that is effective yet does not consume petroleum products is better.

And to avoid messing with the landscape the dried out lakebed could be set as muddy tiles that do not allow crossing.bobingabout wrote:Perhaps they could be like oil.

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow
I dislike the inserter nerf 1. I often use a lot of trains on a same station that supply different resources. So I need to unload them with smart inserters (to filter items). Now - very slow. 2. I often make "manufactures" where I produce complex component from simple input by transfering...

Quite drunk when I read this, however I had a complaint about something involving the antonym of lateral... yet all I could find on the web was medial.

Re: Oil Tank Explosion!
I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but that is probably a lot of work. Don't forget you can also store non-volatile fluids in there too, such as Water, so there'll probably need tags adding to the fluids to say how they're handled. And then you would probably see smaller explosions on pipes too. The v...

Re: Energy Loss Over Distance
Instead of going to all the trouble of actually measuring the distance over which electrical power is transmitted, you could simply give each Power Pole a drain. I suggest the same drain for all Power Poles, regardless of size, thus simulating that Big Power Poles are more efficient at long-distanc...

Re: Friday Facts #76 - MP inside out
I always wondered why you chose such difficult algorithm. Go on with the Friday facts as usual. Because not going for a deterministic state engine with only delta's passed around would mean we would never have MP in this game. It isn't original, EVE Online does the same thing to enable 3000+ player...

Re: More precise map generation options
Another issue is that the same map generator settings get used no matter how far you go, so the map itself feels like an endless expanse of sameness.
There needs to be more macro-level differences to the map.
