Re: Steam/diesel locomotives
Oh and one more thing we should have: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draisine I assume player must click left and right mouse buttons in sequence to move? :-) If trains can be hand powered... maybe assemblers also? And we end with something like this ;) http://blog.mcmodguides.com/wp-content/uploads...

Re: Any ideas 3 items on one Belt?
Problem of multiple items on belts without closed loop is solvable. Ladies and Gents i present You a Inserterizer (first prototype) Advantages: Allows backing up output, Will simply halt and wait for space to put items Allows of not fully compressed input, even empty input. Will simply wait for ingr...

Re: Anyone Ryzen Benchmarks?
It looks like Ryzen suffers from two issues: 1) It has relatively poor single core performance. It's OK, but not great. 2) At the cache level it acts like a NUMA machine. This is fine for software that is optimized for NUMA machines, but can cause cache misses in other software. Maybe Factorio woul...

I played once but with Angels's infini ores and no biters. Challenge was to distribute resources without starving some parts of factory.

Maybe "known content" attack? There is a mod that generates all water world https://mods.factorio.com/mods/FuzzCat927/waterworld . I can't find 0.15 version of it, but i think it exists (i saw it once inside a game mod list). Maybe scenario editor and prepare some maps and analyze it after...

Re: Hosting vanillia game this weekend (maybe longer)
I'm interested but i'm also never played Factorio on multi so i have few maybe obvious questions:
- Multiple bases or single shared one?
- How much players cooperate in one force?
- Do You plan multi force play?
- How do You look about afk players?

Re: Factorio Roadmap for 0.15 + 0.16
Sooo Factorio isn't multi threaded already  It is multithreaded but for whatever reason, the main thread keeps jumping around your cores. If it was kept on a single core, you'd see that one core under 100% load and others much lower. I got false impression that Factorio one thread gets distr...

Re: Friday Facts #169 - Combat revisit 2
Spitters have infinite ammo so they would be able to shoot a defenseless base apart with impunity. If they had limited ammo they would be forced into melee or retreat, thus ending an unchecked spitter attack. Spawners also have infinite ammo of bitters/spliters that can spawn out of thin air. Maybe...

Re: Friday Facts #169 - Combat revisit 2
20161217175052_1.jpg In my opinion the real problem with overpowered turrets is that other options sucks. Bitters will swarm you, block you and works will kill you in like two-four shots. Armors: Modular armor works only for having first construction bots. If you account batteries and shields then ...

Turret creeping... but what other options i have? What with turrets as a support but not main fire power? For example, i got new base near my train line, and i want take it down. 20161217165110_1.jpg Seems small. I have ca 20 follower bots, military shotgun with damage 6, speed 4. As for bots, in ma...

Self regulating factory - low tech
Because it is far easier to make factory when You have factory. At the beginning we all do simple belt-bus-factory and it works. We get electricity and get some science packs. Many of us stick to it until logistics arrives. Many of us experiment with circular factories to get factory-build-essential...
