Music during load

The loading music should use the same volume as the in-game music. If everything is muted the user probably doesn't want the game making sound, including when it loads.

One possible nerf to laser turrets would be to give them a large charge time, 30 seconds or so, and have them prioritise large targets. They would still be useful to defend your base against big biters and big spitters because they would have more than enough time to charge in between waves, but ...

If you want 11 iron in the chest, why not wire the inserter to the chest and tell it to insert iff iron < 11? Besides, saving a few ticks for an optimisation trick doesn't seem necessary.

Either would be better than the current behavior, though I would lean toward opening a new window in addition to the current one rather than replacing it. Factorio seems to be a factory building game with some RTS elements, not an RTS with factory-building. A wider variety of enemies could be interesting, but the point isn't to be a difficult rogue-like.

UI - Clicking on an object should always select it

Currently if you click on two objects, say an assebly machine then an inserter, the first object remains selected. It seems like more intuitive UI design to have clicking on an object always bring up its interface.
