There are separate hotkeys for pickup, place locations and rotation. Look up in Options -> key binding -> Mods

Not sure how to use migration mod, but now any inserters can have any length: you can configure them with hotkeys after "Inserter Configuration" research.

I wonder if it possible to partially use module parts in research and then use them to make modules: Pull them out of lab before they fully consumed. Module production ignore durability so some resources can be saved this way. I did not tried to use inserter to remove items from labs yet. So not sur...

Same issue with fluids display: often you can see (2.0 of 2) or (3.0 of 3) resources highlighted as red.
Maybe you need to make custom rounding function for displayed values? because rounding up make no sense in context of available resources.

Only downside is some settings share the same config files it seems (ie mod-list.json) so it requires loading the game to toggle version specific mods, which requires restarting, when switching versions.... Tags can be usefull to mark grops of mods, for example bobs.
It will be less relevant when mod portal will be able to show all mods from single author (on author page).

Yes, Just don't research "Logistics network" with active provider and requester chests and you are safe.

Biters don't have damage resist against laser and they have 50% vunerability to fire. (ingame tooltip states resistance -50%) Flame turret ammo is infinite. Laser turret can't hit several biters at once, while flame turret creates area that damage ALL biters entering it. Flame turret has bigger range. Your results only valid against single target.
