The nicest things about a main bus are that it's easy to explain, easy to understand, and easy to see when there are problems.
These are three HUGE bonuses for new players. If you're not lost you don't search for help. If you are lost, a bus is very likely the absolute best way to force ...

Re: Found a game breaking bug the other day
wait, how do I get the log from that specific game? cause I don't think I saved it somewhere and it happened yesterday.
To answer this question, you need to get the log when the game crashes. If you keep playing, you lose that log.
But as they said, the point is moot. This has been fixed and ...

Re: Do not show no_power_warning icon when using power switch
So let's say you have 3 logical sections of power in your base. Not actual sections, just logical divisions.
Section 1 has no power generation options.
Section 2 is using nuclear, and is connected to section 1 via a regular power pole. It is there to power section 1.
Section 3 is using steam, and ...

Re: offshore pumping speed 104/1200? what does it mean?
1 pump can supply 20 boilers.
So 1 pump supplying 4 boilers will pump at 4/20th the maximum rate. Because the pipes are full of water.
Basically, you're trying to fix a problem you don't have.

Re: offshore pumping speed 104/1200? what does it mean?
Pipes kill throughput, so often pumps can't go at full capacity because the pipe they are directly connected to is full, because it hasn't emptied its contents into the next pipe down the line.
The best way to overcome this is to use fully-stretched out underground pipes whenever you can, and also ...

Re: Slightly smarter inserters for trains?
IMO 12 items per wagon in a simple setup, or 24 items with the dual long inserter setup, is perfectly fine.
If you _really_ need more than 24 different items per train wagon, then you should be more than capable of making your own circuits.

For perfect CPU efficiency we should add a higher tier assembling machine capable of multiple crafting steps.

Notre: if a building without a recipe is there, the inserter won't grab anything until the building gets a recipe.
This is also true of ghost buildings.

Re: [POLL] Left- or Right- hand rails and roads?
To conclude, there could be on the poll and option saying : "i mix LHD and RHD trains in my network"
That should really be the wording of the "...other than driving..." option, but I screwed up and am leery to change the poll again lest I piss everybody off :D
or maybe "where i live there is ...

Re: [POLL] Left- or Right- hand rails and roads?
Personally I drive on the right where I live, but train on the left.
I'm curious as to why that is. Genuinely makes no sense to me.
I drive on the right. Factorio's signals are right handed. Therefore, the trains *almost always* go on the right.
I understand the people that are just very ...

Re: Multiple fluid in one pipe system?
Anyway I will deconstruct the whole line to eliminate it.
Why would you do that? Use the "flush" button for the ingredient you don't want and bam, it's fixed.
The problem is that every time you want to change recipe, it may instantly contaminate the system again.
It can be very fussy to ...

Re: [1.0]wrong max length value underground belt recipies
Does placing an underground belt at maximum length ("max. length 5") make the belt five or six tiles longer?
Placing the 2nd one makes the belt 5 times longer than just placing the 1st belt.
Maximum length is four underground, or six including entrance/exit. The value shown is the maximum ...

This is clearly a one length belt, measured center to center. Strange I have to use two tiles.

That's right. I said rails AND roads. I'm curious what people do in game, with a consideration of what their real-life road structure is like. I tried to think of everything, but probably forgot something.
Specifically I'm asking:
What side if the road do people in your country drive on? And what ...

Personally I just don't put them in my inventory. I always use them from the blueprint library.
However, IIRC there is a "copy" button when editing a blueprint, that will create a duplicate.
