I think modding this is not possible, and if it is a big security problem.
Of course it is.
You just need to remember that modding can be done outside the Lua too :)

Re: Linux Birghtness

Thanks for the reminder, [s]cpy[/s] prg.
Yeah, factorio's overall-rather-dark textures can be easily compensated using xrandr.

EDIT: Obviously, I can't tell non-humans apart.

Re: factorio launcher / profile manager

Keeping multiple factorio ".zip" instances is perfectly fine to me, as well as keeping different .ini files for different configurations. As prg pointed out in the other thread , the launcher would simply add one more mouse click to the work. I hate having superfluous profile managers enfo...

side note: You are forgetting there is one more place where the text could be inverted. It's the deploying scripts. Meaning the text would be in "logical" ordering in the visible translation files / during translation, but the deploy scripts would re-arrange it to "visual" when b...

Re: Thoughts about Combinators

I think what confused me is that, in all radio buttons I ever seen, when an option is selected the middle is in a different color than the outer ring, so I automatically assumed a solid color is not-selected: http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/ui_controls/img/radio-button-focus1.png The images worked ...

something like: [OS X][GPU vendor] Textures display riddiculously zoomed and/or jumbled.

Re: Friday Facts #88 - Combinators

So that means we'll be able to activate/deactivate transport belts, right? :D Wouldn't that put unpredictable quantities of items on the target belt? It may be more practical to load a time-shared belt by inserters to keep track of item count. It might be more interesting to be able to switch recip...

"Steam backup is a huge mess" Why? It all fits under regular wiring pole AFAIK. You basically answered that question yourself: "As a hack from inside of the game, even though its source code AFAIK didn't plan for it." I'm for straight forward solutions, so I don't like hacks, wo...

Unless your equipment is damaged or hacked, all data transfer methods should transfer without corruption.
Right?

Assuming we're talking about regular methods like flash drives and computer networks.
Did you use something considerably more weird?

Even though it doesn't make sense on early game,

could the burner laps also run on some of the oils?
Real burner lamps can do that, right?
Also it would just mean smelting a full barrel into an empty one I think.

Re: [0.11.22] Crash depend on the system encoding (OSX)

Any idea what does "system encoding" mean?

If it is an encoding throughout the entire system, it should take several hours to change.
If it doesn't do that, what the hell is it an encoding of?

Re: [0.11.20] Right-To-Left languages are presented Left-To-Right in the menus

Out of curiosity:
Would reversing the order of character in the language file fix it visually,
or there would be some other typographic issue to remain?
