Re: Oil Production: What is more efficient?
About the only time basic is better than advanced, is if you've got a reason to make large amounts of solid fuel Basic is never better. https://forums.factorio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7052 Basic is better if you need insane amounts of Lubricant, which comes from heavy oil and you cannot un-crack ...

Re: Option to scale up/down the GUI - Size of the GUI
How about the ability to move a whole gui window by grabbing the border on the sides as well as the top? This way, gui windows that spawn with the top off the screen can be moved to view all the parts of the gui window.

Replace the nigh vision goggles with the better player flashlight mod that makes a circle of light around the player... except when in a train, which makes nighttime riding fun!

If you are worried about a mod having access to its own location in your storage system, I suggest not using that mod.
General rule is not to download anything(not just mods) that you do not trust enough to know where it is.

Re: Even distribution of potions into labs using splitters
This is espcially good for research that uses multiple of each flask per research operation. Especially with some of the high cost Dytech research items, using 5-8 red packs per operation, this layout would eliminate the problem of having some labs sit there with 3-4 science packs and never receivin...

Planning tool mod, allows you to 'paint' the world in different colors. This has been incredibly valuable so far, especially to lay out oil processing factory. Each fluid gets a color and as well as belts, and the whole thing can be laid out before a single piece is crafted. https://forums.factorio....

@starxplor: Exactly my opinion. Then again, I understand that the reality doesn't follow this facts and Steam is still a mighty sales platform. All in all, Factorio will not come to Steam for the next months. Wait for version 1.0. Yeah, I am not trying to say the situation is different than it is, ...

Re: When will it be on Steam?
Hopefully never... Remember, you never truely buy a copy of the game on steam, just a temporary license to use the game. If you dont like the way they change the terms of use, you are screwed out of any game you paid for access to play. Don't waste your money there, buy it from the developers and en...

Not just the items, but each quantity would default to the number required for the crafting, or maybe 2x to keep a buffer.

Right, I finally got off my ass and updated this. New version is in the first post, it fixes that game breaking bug and tweaks a few things like the speed of the locos and how accumulator carriages work. Another problem with logistic carts and filters is that a storage cart with a slot filtered wil...

Max following bot count is off by one?
I have noticed that the follower bot count upgrades get to a total of 9, then proceed at steps of 5. This means there is always a bot being destroyed if you want to use all your follower slots. I wonder if this was meant to get to 10, then step by 5 to use all of each capsule.

2 gig of RAM is not enough for nearly any modern game. With this limitation, it might be suggested to stick with basic online flash/html5 games.

Re: single or double belt lines between furnaces?
To save some horizontal space, if using any mod that has near/far inserters, you could output both plates to one side. This would allow horizontal expantion where each vertical set only needs a vertical output line on one side. This allow removing the two inserters and chest on one side of the smelt...

I havent had a chance to try, but would changing the last belt to a 4th teir help, or is that too fast/far as well?
