Although this doesn't happen for me when I do it in _arbitrary_ order, when I cut the feedback wire in the attached save the output's pinned to the previous value, which is I think clearly wrong.

Re: Override data directory on OSX
Unless something's changed about how `open` works on the mac, you can pass arguments after `--args`, replace /path/to etc above with `open -a factorio --args` or whatever.

Re: Disallow inserters from interacting with splitters
Easiest graphic change might be to have the inserter arm swing stop at the input end of the segment, but it's even easier to just say that that's where the hand operates, at the input end where it could clearly put/take items , and the arm swing continues all the way to vertical because inserters ar...

Re: Override data directory on OSX
config-path.cfg in the install dir (afaict factorio just looks two levels up from the executable) says where to find the config if you don't specify one on the command line. read-path and write-path in that config say where the data dirs are, paths are relative to the start dir but `.` doesn't work,...

Re: [0.15] Burner inserter is eating something it can't swallow
I believe that in every map I make from now on I will have one rocket-fuel-powered burner inserter doing something useful, in a role where that's actually the most efficient setup. Anything that only operates once every say six minutes a burner inserter's best. I vote for keeping the burner inserter...

Re: Can you give me a challenge?
Play on a water world (max water size/freq, it gets you a 50/50 map that looks pretty good).
Build a train route that doesn't fit on the map you can see zoomed all the way out.

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers
Real world power generation can be broken into base, load-following and renewable. With this nuclear behavior the devs have now given us all three types - nuclear = base, Coal/Steam = load following and solar = renewable. To me this is ideal, the nuclear isn't a drop-in replacement for an existing ...

Re: 0.15.3 headless linux server - state InitializationFailed
It looks like the `--create` switch doesn't append "saves/" on the front of the save file name, try moving the save file there or explicitly saying `create saves/main` Also, `--start-server` seems to be doing something funny, if I move the main.zip to saves, `--start-server main` complains...

Re: Nuclear power with steam storage tanks
It looks awesome, but don't you want to leave yourself set up to lengthen reactor row there? You're getting 2x output boost from the neightbor bonus, but when you start extending your row it gets better, a 4x2 row averages 2.5x, 8x2 averages 2.75x. With the 2x boost you''re getting now I think you o...

Re: Generic Barreling/Unbarreling Recipe
Agreed about segregating the barrelling recipes, but I'd hate to see logistics chests full of steam barrels, that's 120000 steam in dat wittle bitty space.
Then again, maybe it'd be a good laugh.
edit: I see, you can already barrel steam, but it loses its temperature and becomes 15℃ water again.

Re: Question about centrifuge
Once you get your breeder cycle going you can stop worrying about the refining lottery, 3×U-258 → 1×U-235 but you need 40(!)×U-235 as catalyst tho.

Like this. Almost anytime you're doing the same thing to lots of signals, there's an easy way to do it with a single combinator. edit: heh. glad it's working for ya.

Re: Circuit Network - Just insert 10 Iron Plates, 10 Steels
You can do this in a batch, set your desired chest contents negative in a constant combinator, wire the chest and combinator together to an each-to-each × -1 arithmetic or each-to-each < 0 → 1 decider and set your filters from that, anything > 0 lights the filter.

Re: Steam tanks and heat loss
A little self-study says load-following's a big-boy feature for plants 20+ times the size of the ones in Factorio, and if you put 20 Factorio nucs together the result can be vastly more maneuverable than anything available on our little planet.

Re: [0.15.3] Circuit readout displays wrong value
For me, just watch it for a bit. Here's one I saved when it was showing a clearly wrong count, but on reload it shows the correct count and doesn't show a wrong one until I watch for a while, is there any way to set a script to compare what's being displayed with the circuit value and what's on the ...

[0.15.3][Twinsen] Circuit readout displays wrong value
This is probably just a graphics glitch, in which case it's barely even minor, but . . . Screenshot from 2017-04-27 12-57-51.jpg you can see that there's nothing on those belts, and yet the circuit showss two U-235's. The belts are set to read/hold, the inserter doesn't read. 0eNq9ltuOmzAQhl+l8jVUYM...

Re: Version 0.15.2
Why nuclear reactor consumes fuel cells all time at the full rate regardless of load? Is it bug? No, it's not a bug. That's intentional so not to waste fuel you have to use the circuit network for controlled fuel input. But why is it working this way? With the same approach, regular boiler could co...
